Yeah - riding it fixed was getting boring.

Is this likely to be fast paced?

Not if half of 'em are racing..

ok on a scale of 1-10 (1 = bad bad idea, etc etc - 10 yeah shouldnt be too bad, even if you are an unfit bastard :P) what are your views on me joining you guys and trying it as my 1st long ride, ofc it will be SS - 48:18 on my conversion/contraption - no other bike, so its that or nothing :). I see a a fair few will be going geared so i get teh feeling there may be a crazy pace set, but seeing as weather looks ok, and missus is out of town, i just fancy doing something with whats left of the weather.

Should I ride fixed or geared?

ride your fixed, I wanna see it.

Well if i'm going i'll be riding fixed at a steady/slower pace so you can always ride with me, i'll be taking a route map incase i get dropped from the main group (no way i can ride too fast at the moment and dont want to hold anyone up by waiting for me..).
I'll be the one on the beaten up old holdsworth, and a pronounced hobble each time i try ang get my leg over the frame you should go for it, i suspect the route isnt that tough?

Mate's 30th the night before. Riding is a maybe. Competing is a 'are you 'avin' a laugh?!' :)

It won't be fast, but we'll be wanting to get there by about 11.15am or something.

30 miles in three hours should be ok, even for me ;o)

more the merrier guys. we just 'cruised' to this last year. bring your fixed - only the guys competing are taking their gears with them from what i can tell.
