I like your frame ....

I don't mind splitting if you can come up with the conkers

I have the same wheels, very nice, although mine are X3 front not radial.
They work fine with a brake. I have not used one, but my GFs dad has been using them on his road bike for years and they stop just fine.

You have the same RIMS you mean ;-)
Anyway, how come you asked me what rims they were about a month ago? Unless you got them since? -
• #32
you about this weekend so i can get the grips?
-
• #33
Got them since, built them onto my phils Mmmmm.
Before I sold the frame...
They look sweet on all bikes.

Excuse the bump but is no-one after a shit'ot pair of wheels? Please don't make me have to fuck around with eBay
-
• #39
still not sold eh?
get 'em relaced and put a braking surface on the front, and we can talk
-
• #40
Errrr, a braking surface, how the hell am I supposed to do that!?
Tell you what, I'll flip it round - why don't you stop being a fanny and ride brakeless and we can talk! ;-)
-
• #41
i meant get it machined, but i wasn't serious.
i'll let you know if my fanniness factor decreases
-
• #42
OK mate, I'll get them machined just for you...........?!
-
• #43
yea that vivalo is nice. i have a red w/ silver flake coming in the post. might just have to put these wheels on it :D
-
• #44
They have a braking surface!! Its is just not a machined one. They work fine with a brake!!!
Put a brake onto mine for the first time this weekend, and it is great, no squeaking or grabbing, just works.
If they only thing putting you off is the braking surface, buy them now, you won't regret it.

Yeah but Gizmond, there are unmachined rims and unmachined rims, if you catch my drift...
I have just built a bike with unmachined skinny rims with two brakes... but they're £18 rims.
I think a really decent rim like that will only be ruined by 'machining' it yourself with your brake blocks. I have done it to some Mavic cxp14s (like I said above) and I am regretting it.

• #46
but all older style rims never had a machined braking surface?!?
-
• #47
how much were you thinking?
-
• #48
£225 and a hand job should do it
-
• #49
but all older style rims never had a machined braking surface?!?
How could I have missed this pearl??????????
