I was going to make an offer on the stem, but then realised that that would be a dirty move. Don't sell it. Keep it. dismantle it and put it under the bed until you have space for it, loan it out to a friend. Do anything but get rid of it.

i'm with dogs on this one. having a bike you ain't gonna ride seems pointless, for whatever reason.

She would ride it though.

The bigger issues are that I can't afford to insure it, and I'm moving to London in October and finding a place that will let me keep 3 bikes in the hall is going to be tricky. Plus I'm scared to death of the idea of leaving it locked up in London out of sight. In short I like the frame too much to ever be able to sensibly use it :( I want to keep it so badly though.

These aren't real problems.

If you decide to sell and it's silver, I'll take the stem.

It's gorgeous. If that was a 58cm frame it would be in my flat by now, and you would have some cash in your pocket. However, it's not, and I think you should keep it. Build it up and ride it around London. Spend some cash on insurance and stop worrying so much.
