  • Are you serious? It might work on the shrinking side but you'd just shatter off the top outside the frame surely? You'd still have to heat the frame and I think the alu'd be so cold not only could you not touch it but it would also be incredibly fragile. At a guess like.

  • Just brainstorming.

  • Pics to follow, but its absolutely beautiful!

    Cinelli stem,
    Cinelli Pista bars
    SR Alu seatpost
    Turbo saddle
    CX ofmega cranks
    Look clipless pedals

    Carlton frame with 531 stickers
    Tour defrance winners 1978-79 sticker
    Team T.I Raleigh

    £20, awesome.

Need a sprocket but I couldn't wait so I found a freewheel to go home on..

Now, it's got lots of rust patches, around seatpost, and on bits of the frame... whats the best course of action for sorting these out? sand down and touch up or should I get whole thing blasted and coated?

  • Hooray, there is a party inside your head but noone wants to come.

  • I am sure it is lovely, isn't the seat post jammed?

  • Aye, but pretty much my height. Might need to come out but i'll worry about that after the party.

  • I can't wait so I jammed off

Oh, my sides.... stitch me up!

  • cool! rusted frame and stuck seat post.

  • humph, I expect more positivity when I put pictures up. Well, at least its fast.

    One way of respraying.

  • Waiting on 1/8" 15t sprocket, got a 1/8" chain ready. Could do with sorting the front brake onto the top.

    Nicer in the steel?

  • yeah thats nice mate. score!

  • That's very nice. You must change the brake lever set up though!

    • 1 mount it on the stem. ;)
  • Yes, he had it set up so he could take it off for the track... won many races this bike, lets hope they build that track at Derby, maybe I can win a few more.

Thanks both of you for your comments.

  • All for £20, jammy git. Good buy that man!

  • not the wheels, £175 for the wheels... bloody wheels

  • £20 . . . bargain of the century mate!

  • very nice.

  • Score!

  • Wow...Some forumengers have all the luck :(

  • Schweet!

  • Good score.

  • But my recommendation is to speak to cycling clubs, many track enthusiasts have old track frames sitting around unused. The chap I got it from had raced it in the 80's and 90's before moving on to more modern frames, £20 for him is better than something getting in the way, he didn't ask for anything but I had to give him something!

I think the cycling club guys are pretty wise to the fixed fashion these days. but deals are out there. although the stuck seatpost may give you strife, it is fixable and you have a sweet bike for £20. kudos to you!
