Really pleased to hear that you are OK JemJah.
Did someone tell you about this thread or did you stumble across it? It must be odd, but maybe quite pleasing, to find a little part of the internet dedicated to your well being?
Welcome to LFGSS :-)
thank you everyone - i have a massive smile on my face now!
i had been told that there were some posts up on a few forums but it has taken until now for me to bring myself actually read them, but i just wanted to say thanks, having support makes such a difference.
would love to come to drinks sometime - not in london much yet (moved to the country when i came out of hospital to recover and am still here!) but when i am will definitely come along.
Fluff, you sound strong! I have yet to re-visit the accident site, but i think i need to. i agree that it is so important to be positive, look forwards and not feel like a victim.

I have yet to re-visit the accident site, but i think i need to.
I can strongly recommend that.
Although I've been able to stand up and walk away from the scene of all my accidents (and thus have no idea what you went through), it's always felt good to go and ride that line at least once more just to prove that I knew what I was doing.Well done for getting back on the bike.

+1 for going back to the scene.
I've had a couple of crashes that were luckily no-where near as bad as yours and it's hard enough getting back on the bike let alone going past the same spot, but it needs to be done.
I'm really interested to hear what you have to say about your accident...

Wonderful to hear that you got back on the bike :-)

awesome news! really glad you cane on here too.
i witnessed the aftermath of your misfortune from my office on the other side of the bridge. really relieved to hear you're back in one piece.
i still go through that junction every day and it's a real deathtrap for cyclists because of northbound traffic turning left across the bike lane onto embankment. it's even worse at the moment because if you manage to negotiate that bit without getting cut up, as you come off the bridge onto blackfriars road, you go round a blind corner to discover that the bike lane is closed off by roadworks requiring a very deft filter into fast moving traffic.
anyway. really super happy you're ok.

I opened this thread with trepidation. Marvellous to hear that, instead of what I expected, such good news. So glad to hear you are recovering and cycling. Keep it going!
