Speaking of the Joystick, there's a new 'commuter' version coming out soon, called the Exposure Spark, it cost a friendly £100, and only 20 lumens shy of the Joystick, £90 in Wiggle.
You mean the same one in the list on page one of this thread? :)
Evans beat Wiggle's price by 1p. Bargain.

I can tell you that it's as bright as the Hope Vision 1, if not brighter.
anecdotal. not evidence.
you may as well use homeopathic measures there.

Don't have experience of the Front Light, but those Rear Smart's are good for the money.

My wife has the set, and the rear is brilliant. Blinding, tiny, and the light has a belt clip built in, rather than a system where you slot it into a clip, like the catseye ones. The front is perfectly acceptable. Four LEDs I think, nice and bright, flashing mode works a treat.
I need a new rear, and I'll probably buy the set from fatbirdsdontfly. As for a front, I'll probably go for something AA powered to help with battery life over longer rides (can't afford a dynamo hub). Reading this thread is making my head spin, soooo many recommendations!

Can anyone tell me the name of the rear light reeen has? I think clefty also has the same light...

I think they were Niterider Cherrybomb, doubt it but they're really bright, way brighter than my cateye equation.

My girlfriend has them too, good light, you have to keep an eye on the batteries though.

Pics of your light(s) in action?

I'll get some pics sorted out soon for the thread.
Spark uses batteries, which are a pain in the arse.

Spark uses shit batteries, so you will inevitably end up spending the same if not more keeping it alive and working than the sealed in battery in the Joystick
There are CR123 rechargables...

YouTube- Race Maxx 2 and Redeye 09 Review and Features
..and see here, 2:30 ish, for the 'redeye' plugged into an exposure light. this is the rear light I use. It's as bright as the joystick, only with a diffuser in front of the red LED to make the light spread.
Downside is there is little sideways light, so it isn't as good around town as say a Blackburn Mars (used to use one until the seals went).

I have the exact same set (Race 2 and redeye), the redeye is alarming bright, but the mounting is severally limited (velcro'ed to the seatpost).
is there any other method to fasten the redeye to the seatpost? cause I lost the velcro to the redeye and don't want to make another one.

... Blackburn Mars (used to use one until the seals went).
How long did you have it until the seals went? I've had mine for about 2 years now and they still seem good. -
• #595
Had mine for 2 years, although it had two odd screws in it, and was always attached to the bike with a home made bracket so got all the thrown up abuse from the rear tyre, and was never removed from the bike through winters in a cold garage. Quite good really.
New light gets more care than that!
