Thanks for the info. If there was some way of attaching the lights via a home made mount, would you say they're worth a shot or is the overall quality too much of a problem?

Sent an email to Wiggle. Been having bad luck with lights recently. Batteries ran out on two light simultaneously and i'd forgotten spares that day. My everyday back light stops working when it's wet now :(

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Never worked out why it fell off, just lost it somewhere on Streatham High Road :(
tbh I think those saddle mounts are fucking crap
-
• #4055
lots of reviews saying the light falls out of the saddle mount, would only use on a TT. The seatpost mount is much better.

any recommendations for a solid, dependable, reasonably bright light that's robust and will last a few years commuting (rear or front & rear set) on a fairly limited budget?

So the seatpost mount was actually broken. Hence the light fell off. Wiggle seem to be interested so hopefully I get a new light ans mount. I need the saddle mount for my PX as it has an aero seat tube :(

I got this reply
"Thank you for your reply.
I can confirm that I have checked this with our Returns Team and unfortunately this is not classified as a manufacturing fault. we are then unable to except this back as a return and unable to process this as one either. I am sorry I was unable to help you.
I hope you have a good day anyways!
Regards"
Surley as the clamp broke during normal usage it is the fault of the product? Is there anything more I can do? If not what light + mount do u guys recommend for TT seat posts?

I've ordered a moon mk2. As recommended by Tester himself.
It's a standard rubber band mount. But the rear rubber section of the light can be swapped for one that fits aero seatposts. You can do the same with the nebular.
Seems the best option to me.
I have front on order too.
As well as some k20 cree eyeball burners.
Can't help but feel I buy a fuck ton of lights every year. To be fair the exposure lights have been the most solid so far.

You can try under the sale of goods act, particularly if you've had it for less than six months.
Suggest a clamp that fails isn't of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose.

It surely is, and stop calling me Shirley :-) While it is strictly Wiggle's problem to fix (sale of Goods Act, as @aggi says, makes the retailer responsible to the consumer for fitness for purpose claims), you might want to get in touch with USE, as they are real people in this country who actually take an interest in how their product perform in the field

I bought a set like these
Still going strong.
If you're on a budget (and your aim is being seen rather than lighting your path) IMO you're better off having a couple of pairs of these so you have multiple lights.
Most lights break, get lost, or stolen eventually so if you're on a tight budget just buy more cheaper ones.

fyi, ribble seem quite cheap atm for the moon mk2's
-
• #4065
Well. They are so cheap, I guess the light you get for your money can't be beat. I also bought a set of rechargeable AAA batteries to go with them, to try and offset some of the environmental impact of what must be their horrible production method.

Price isn't a bad proxy for environmental impact - it's hard to trash much for $1, energy costs about the same everywhere and "exploited" workers on ten cents an hour aren't going to be driving 3 ton V8 pick up trucks to the factory.

There are moon mk2 lights on eBay from Taiwan.
I have a front and a rear on order. I'll report back.

They look similar to these http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/LISMLU6FRRE/smart-lunar-60-lux-front-with-half-watt-rear-light-set-black
Decent for the price

How does everybody charge their lights? We've 4 Lezyne lights in the household which need charging on a regular basis now. I've got usb chargers, but due to the size of the light, can only charge one at a time when its plugged in. Does everybody else have many usb chargers?

I use a powered 7-port USB hub as a general purpose charger, with up to 2 Moon lights + 3 Blackburn Fleas + phone + Garmin all plugged in at once.

My moon mk2 arrived.
In a word 'perfect'.
After the amount of bodges I've had to preform to get various lights to fit. Involving getting stranded at night with snapped light straps, or broken light bodies. I've finally lucked out.
Genuine thanks to mdcc_tester for his help.

Aero too!

Have you a link to these?
I have those, would not recommend (even though they throw quite a bit of light): the plastic smells of lethal solvents (no kidding, I had to throw away the rubber inserts), the light changes to "low" mode when you ride on bumpy gravel.
