  • My cat eye light sets died, I've squished wd40 in there and they've dried out fully, even new batteries a complete min of their own. Any ideas of how to fix them?

Already got a Cree front light and smart r1 but would just like to fix them if possible? New lights have grease on the threads I'll be taping over the seals on the smart for extr waterproofness :D

  • Still tempted by the hope 1 - just wondering if there is anything equally as good for the money.

  • I have been using the exposure spark all winter, I sold my vision 1 mostly because of it's size.
The spark is tiny, has good light output, (at least as good as the hope), maybe better, makes a great torch off the bike, can use rechargeable RCR batteries, or disposables.

  • I've just got a spark and I'm very pleased with it. I've only used it a few times, and have never used a vision 1, so can't compare between the two. I picked it over the hope for all the reasons adroit gives, and that for about £4 more than the hope on wiggle it came with a charger and rechargeable batteries. The fuel gauge was an added bonus too.

Was amazed by how quick the charger is too.

  • Yep I'm still undecided, hope looks great, price could be less. I may wait to see if there's some deals to be had on it. I think wiggle had it for under 60 last year.

  • Does anyone have an offer code for Trendz? They have the hope vision 1 for 69.99.

  • tredz are dicks try not to buy from them, they often say they have stuff in stock when they dont

  • I've only had that happen once, and they emailed to say unfortunately there'd be a short delay (the order arrived a week later). Other than that, I've had good service from them.

  • doesn't stop them being dicks to all the other lbs's

  • Still the cheapest online though, ribble is a few quid more and wiggle is more than that.

  • doesn't stop them being dicks to all the other lbs's

That they are, but online business is just the same as others, they're simply not frequent in their stock taking ability.

  • which considering the size of the company you'd think they'd have working out how to do by now.

  • ^ and ^^ Nothing to do? Frame your posts and put them on the wall.

  • Also one of the major perks for me using Hope is the fact they take AA batteries, if they die anywhere I can replace them easily, does having rechargeable via usb not annoy anyone? Or do you carry a spare light just in case?

  • For replacing Hope batteries manual dexterity is required

  • So far I've just been sure to charge my USB ones every single time I get home, that way I know they'll always be charged when I take them out next.

Or one of those spare battery holders loaded with a fresh set of batteries (think BMMF posted a link a while back). Must have been in the TNRC thread.

  • i now ordered these.
hope they are reliable and I don't need a battery powered light for backup.

  • ^£4.90! Fuck off. They're £1.29 at Maplin.

My brother has the same light. For road use it's fantastic with a lovely throw. It's such a flat beam you'll never piss off motorists, kind of like the intensity of full beam but at a low beam angle. So far it's done nothing but impress. On the trails a small secondary light to give some fill is useful to help with depth and shadow but he's never had call to use it as anything else. Stand light times are also impressive.

sounds good. I have a magicshine for burning retinas.

The Exposure spark uses CR123 or RCR123.The former are usually available at petrol stations. You can also buy a set of 4 RCR 123 li ion and a charger for about £20, which you can charge any time you like, so I always have two fully charged batteries in the light and two more stashed as a spare, and I have never needed the spare set even after 3 hour rides.
