^Shit, the mounts are made from cheese and the connectors fall apart.
I know several unhappy owners.
Quite tempted buy the bargainousness of these, but decided I don't actually need one. Reckon I'll go for 5w cree torch/light off the ebay.
Electron 16 LED was £119.99 - Now £49.99

My Magicshine light turned up yesterday - fully charge out the box. It's incredibly bright, only needed to put it on half-power in town, fits nicely to the bars and doesn't rattle/wobble around like my cateye one did.
The battery is a bit bulky though, might try and hide it in the saddle bag.

I got fucking blinded by some cunt on a bike with something resembling a spotlight on seizure setting on the other night. Nearly fell off my bike.

Can imaging how you feel.
used to set mine on seizure mode, but realised the implication it have on others, so left it on constant.

Ditto. Not to worried about the bulkiness, I had the pleasure of taking off a bulkier andy fault ridden pair when I installed it. Seems to give a really nice hotspot, which I'll set 5m ahead to be able to see ice.
Looks very solid, so very happy with tem so far.

Bugger. Cherrybomb declipped from saddlebag on the way to Victoria station today - somewhere near Chelsea Bridge I suspect. Think I'll try a Mars 4.0 this time..

I think everybody suffers this problem at least once. Here (below) is my solution. Its never failed since.

Have you used redish bands, because they are back lights?
Major OCD-ism ;)
My magic shine works brilliantly. Not much ice about at the moment. But it looks like the light supplied works well for judging road conditions.

What do people think of the new Knog design?
I picked up a pair for the pub bike when I was caught out without lights the other week. They're much much brighter than their predecessors.

Yeah I should have done that - I thought it was solid. Had a fancy wee red rubberband lying around too! I picked up a Mars 3 yesterday. I'll put the frame bracket on the road bike and wear it on my bag for commuting (with rubberband insurance). -

I suspect they were probably used because they are 'given away' free by the royal mail who thrown them on pavements and doorsteps after unwrapping their bundles of mail

Correct answer. I found out my postroom at work throw away hundreds of these red bands, so I asked for them and got too many I suppose.

i always use them, but they are bio-de-fncking-gradeable, and fall apart after a few weeks :(

and , yeah i know there are loads more about

Fair play.
TBH I would have fallen prey to the OCD reasoning. But then I used to commute in orange MTB gloves, cuz I use my hands to indicate (not weird in my head)

WTF are you doing to them? I get about 6 months per band. The way you treat your free rubber bands and your Sidi replacement soles disgusts me.

right thread this time...
Seen a chap on a rather lovely Orlowski riding up essex road every so often with what looks like a rear light that looks like its basically made up of a strip of 10 or 12 LEDS, really quite bright and good for fitting to your bag, rather than hanging a normal light from it looked like this one was velcro'd on somehow...
don't suppose anyone else has seen these or know where I could get my hands on one do they.......

I saw a guy with this on his bag, and was pretty impressed by it. It seemed to be pointing down, yet still gave off a lot of light rearwards.
It is essentially a copy of the Cateye LD 600.Was it one of those?

I've got the LD610 on my bag so a similar light to that one, the one I saw on the other guys bag was a strip about double the length of one of those, I was sure it was a strip of LEDs but thinking about it now it was possibly one of these....
it was bloody bright anyway and you could see it from all directions which I thought was pretty impressive

I added those just yesterday to the list.

Me and Tom decided to have a quick play with the Exposure Six Pack after work to see how much it pack;
Holy fuck, it's bloody powerful, it managed to lit up the tower of Wimbledon Theatre surprisingly well.
The people in the opposite building must've been freaking out thinking the alien came to take them.
Do you think you could make an effort to put your threads in the correct section? Questions about bikes or components (such as lights) should be in Bikes and Bits. Ta.
