Melvyn Hayes would be closer to type. Though Terry Collier was my idol in sitcoms.

Well that's sent me on a journey. Whilst searchig for Melvyn Hayes I ended up on somethingjewish.co.uk where he appeared in the 'Where are jew now?" section.
Also in that sections was this

we can get Tynan to do the music; that should sink it.
Great I can revive the truly appalling piece I did for a Specsavers ad that got rejected on the grounds: "it's sounds shit".

I stopped myself from falling down the stairs in a restaurant by grabbing some poor unfortunate soul's testicles. It was a rather traumatic experience.

The guy seemed unhurt but to be fair I am not sure as I left the scene as quickly as I could. I ran to our table "Let's get out of here! NOW!" to a bemused jaygee

I was eating bouillabaisse in a fine French seafood restaurant and was trying to crack a crab claw when the crab claw flew out out my crab claw crackers across the gap between the tables and hit a man squarely in the face he took it very well but I now tend to stick with the steak and give the surf a wide berth.

I once saw a photo on the side at my mates design studio - thought it was someone I knew then realised it wasn't and said loudly 'ohhh - it's that cnut from Coldplay' (it was the drummer). Everyone went quiet and I turned around Chris Martin was sat there. 'Er, hello'. Classy.

Surely not too awkward - Cnut was still a king, even if a somewhat megalomaniacal and deluded one. As a matter of fact, wasn't there a recent Coldplay single about that?!

My bars are a bit too low
I like 2unlimited
I don't like skidding
I don't like meeting people for coffee as it has a tendency of making me cough mid-mouthful and spray it all over my companion
If I had unlimited lego I'd just make an elephant
My lockring doesn't actually touch my sprocket
I rode on a broken spoke for a year
I like washing my bike
I did an audax once and enjoyed it
Really?,
Where is this mythical place named wales then? huh? well?!
