lapsang souchong, taken how i like my women, strong and black.
Easily my favourite (and almost life-defining) quote on this forum.
Today I'm trying Rooibos for the very first time, and its good. Similar to "Cinnamon tea" that we drink in the West Indies, when under the weather, or suffering from an upset stomach. Its not a true tea of course, but is cinnamon bark left to "brew" in boiling water.
There is also "bush tea", which, I'll be honest, I have no clue what the actual plant is that is used, but its green leaves from somewhere....
I like "English Tea", which is normally a mixture called English Breakfast, a blend of true teas, made for the English palate of the Victorian era. Still good. But I'm common.

the Japanese name for 'brown' is 'chairo'.. or 'tea colour'.
just thought i would share that.
And the water temperature for green tea thing is just a western creation. Everyone here just uses boiling water

Taylors of Harrogate Yorkshire Gold, brewed with sugar for 4 minutes, then plenty of full-fat milk. Heaven.

Don't drink branded tea so can't help. I'm an own label man - Sainsburys Red Label during the day, decaf after about 7-8pm.
You need good quality dust for strong tea, from what I've heard Tetley's isn't the strongest so maybe their extra strong isn't the strongest either?

Im currently on Red Label myself too as TES is rather dear and ive not seen any about in my local supermarkets.
Red Label is a tasty tea though thats for sure. -

met with a tea lady yesterday. apparently you can tell good quality by the size of the leaves. bigger = better.

Assam tea is pretty strong in general.

... but not their Earl Grey, which is FAIL.

But that's not going to make strong tea - it's all about surface area isn't it.

Ah, I didn't realise that Verveine and Verbena are probably just different forms of the same word. It's wonderful stuff all the same.
