I think this forum demonstrates that we can all take a hit that is aimed above the belt- witness the Hippy/Murtle/Object/Shinscar "Cunt" diatribes.

It's all taken in the spirit that it is intended, i.e. jokingly.

Your post, intentioned or not was seen as being below the belt, taking aim at something very private to a forum member that he had chosen to share.

In short- have some respect.

This forum is unusual in that the members often meet up, therefore hiding behind your PC is not something that is not as feasible as it is with other forum's.

I didnt think 'the issue' was a big enough deal to be parodised. Hippy for example has mentioned his brain surgery many times, and ed has asked for advice regarding his deafness. Never been parody worthy.

Even if it was based around me, Im really not bothered enough to be offended. I think Ive probably jumped in and offended people many times here unwittingly often in attempts of humour.

I got the impression it was possibly real, and for that I simply reccomend checking it out and not worrying to much. Sounds like nothing, probably a throat infection at the worst.

Oh, and as you can see my response to Aidans post of "slightly insensitive" I thought he meant, I was being insensitive by making a joke!

DFP, i hope your symptoms turn out to be nothing too serious. im glad you weren't offended and also that you have forumengers jumping to your defence after you shared a private problem.

i had a stomach ulcer 5 years ago, and still suffer from acid reflux, sometimes it's metallic in taste
