Tourney: Polo tournament in Zurich October

Timed games suck! We went out 2-1 against Berlin in the quarter-finals in a 10 minute game. Format was very unclear and muttled. Some sort of points system to get through to the quarterfinals then straight knock out from there.
Our scores were:
Lousanne(?) Team 2 - 5-0
Karlsruhe - 5-2
Basel Team 2 - 5-2
Berlin - 1-2

Team 1 Basel won the tourney against Munich (the shoreditch winners) I think it was 5-4 but they played very, very dirty. And the crowd reacted with more "boo's" than I had heard the entire day...

Both teams were dirty? Or just Basel?

Munich were T-Bone happy at the shoreditch tourney (from the little I remember of that day)

yeah strange way of playing on the German side... Not very fast or beautiful I thought. The favorites (FFF, NYC) got eliminated even before us.
But it was great to see so many cities gathered for this. I only wish the court had been bigger and the games not timed.

Well done Zombie. QF is a good result. You can aim for semi's or higher in Paris!

Good result though, sounds like guys. Its really dull playing against teams that lock up and bore you to death. Are you guys back?

the final game was to rough, that was more a kind of icehockey bodychecks from the basel-guys then playing polo. but at the end it was a really nice weekend. great to see 26 teams from europe and ny playing bikepolo...

So the day after the tourney, we finished the game against Berlin. Started the game at 2-1 their favor and finished it 12 minutes later at 5-4 our win. Just for some closure... ;)

Hey Hey! Super fun playing with you all this weekend. Saturdays play was intense, but really fun. Sunday was awesome closing down the street again and going at it. Drove all night again, got back to Berlin 9am this morning (arg). If anyone is planning on making it to Berlin for the Halloween alleycat, where are going to do another tourney on Sunday (same day as Paris).

The 10 minute games did suck a bit, but the only way to move that many teams through. We had to be out by 6, and the final finish around 5:30.
Great meeting and playing with all of you, look forward to the next one.
