There's a very nice campsite in allemond / allemont (5km from bourg) called camping le grand calme. If you're driving and can take tents I recommend it.

I'd recommend staying on the Alpe so you can enjoy a fuck off hors categorie climb at the end of every ride.

Also recommend Bourg. I went about 5 years ago and stayed in Hotel Des Alpes. Bourg is a small place but in a good spot that's really easy to get to most decent climbs. Would go back.

Seconded! You can also take a lovely back road to approx. halfway up the alpe as well

I've based myself at the campground there, Ferme Noemie, when there. Lovely spot.

The old road to st something with the tunnels then over the top of the mountain to orno dropping back to boug . Best road in the area. Villard notre dam with a cafe in the square.

Yes thats the one. We all did it on 25 slicks me on my cervelo r3sl no problem. Great views looking down on alp d huez.

There's only 4 of us so slightly over killed it in the bedroom dept!
Ha yeah I was assuming @Sion was not planning on giving their group of pals a 14km, 1000m up, av. 8% climb* back to dinner and bed each evening...!
*I may have had to look up a couple of those statistics.
