I tell you though. It was bloody hard work, and we were both on low gearing 69 Jim and 71 for me or something. Could definitely of benefited from a higher gear, more sleep and less sharp air in the lungs. According to my calculations 25mph on that gearing gives an average cadence of 120! No wonder I was fucked afterwards!

Bumpity Bump Bump
tomasito, any chance of us revisiting the crack of dawn TT, I'm up for as much riding as possible in the future, if I'm going to be competitive come track day 3.
Who else is up for it? Sunday Mornings, quick sprints then off for a well deserved breakfast. From tomasito's original first post.
Here's one possibility. Exactly 4 miles. Not too many traffic lights + good visibility at junctions. Start/finish at Blackfriars Bridge. -

Nice bump corny.
We found that that route was pretty busy alon Embankment when we first tried it, 7am on a Sunday, and so ended up doing laps of the Mall & Birdcage walk. I'm definitely up for more of the same - it was a great morning. Or we could do laps of Regents.Either way, count me in for riding and then greasy spoon action.

I am well up for a bit of TT action.

tomasito, could you post up the version of the route that you did, or am I just being really lazy by not trying to figure it out myself.
Anyone else have any other thoughts about any other possible tt courses. -

This is what we ended up doing, but it needs to be a it longer. Two or three laps if we go with this choice.
Cops along the route gave us no trouble at all, and a few early morning smiles. -

This is very exciting - when? next Sun????

Good call corny. Lets get this thing off the floor!
It was a lot of fun lat time, just not so many people on the day.
@Boardmanchris: looking forward to meeting you.

Get there! or at least turn up. It was a right laugh last time.

Damn my easily twisted arm, count me in then.

this sunday?
Sound like an excuse to change my winter gearing to something higher. I'm in.
-

Gotta echo, it was great fun last time even if I was pretty slow! I'd like to do perhaps a couple of laps of the one we did.. The route was clear, roads were nice, all left turns and a lovely setting too!
I wonder if that guy on the MTB doing laps last time is still going round?

So when's it going to be? I think I'm busy for the next couple of weekends, but I reckon this Early Morning TT malarky is going to feature regularly. It certainly sounds like you had a good laugh last time.

In.

I'm in. Chance to add to my inner-loop-of-RP-Saturday-morning TT record.
How crack-of-dawn will it be? If we're starting before 8 then we'll need lights, unless we want to wait until later in the year.
(I'm up for this Sunday anyway)

So its definitely on for next Sun?
Brilliant , hope so, just where and what time?
-
• #170
I'm going to do a lap or two this Saturday to see how unfit I am. If I can manage something respectable, I'm in.
-
• #171
I'll be riding this.....

• #172
Hell of the Ashdown this Sunday, so I am... OUT.
-
• #173
I won't be able to do it this Sunday, or the next, but hopefully sometime in the future

Over that distance those two speedfreaks should be hitting 35mph. Tut tut.
I like the look of that.. the breakfast that is, not the TT ;)
