  • Brighton ain't ready is such a feel good BMX video.
This may just be because I loved living in Brighton though.

  • Fuck me, that kid has got some kid. I love his style. It's not barspin, tailwhip, barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip,barspin, tailwhip, all the time.

That's the new street style there. I used to pride myself on a good hop but it's got a little on the low side in recent years. I'd better get back out and get my back muscles going again.

  • 180 down steps @ 3:15 is big. I remember seeing a photo of Ian Morris jumping those steps and thinking it was bit without the 180.

  • I like how most of his riding does not involve hard tricks, but basic tricks that are done on hard stuff. How hard is a bunnyhop, a 180, a manual or an icepick... easy for anyone to do. But the way he puts these basic tricks into a long flowing line in the street, on stuff that most riders would probably not even see as a riding spot... amazing.

  • Awesome style, kind of makes me think of a cross between steven hamilton and mikey aitken, love it, can't wait to get riding street again on my new bike, its taking shape, hopefully be done by the end of this month!

    What you building ?

  • 24 inch street mtb, rigid, brakeless, with a freecoaster, fairly lightweight and stripped down, the usual chopped seatpost slim seat etc.

Sounds nice. Looking forward to seeing pics !

  • Gonna whack it up in current projects once I get more of the parts in one place lol, they're a bit scattered around at the moment!

  • You started it yet James? I haven't heard/seen anything of it yet. You holding back?!

  • So far I have:

    Frame
    Forks
    Bars
    Grips
    Stem
    Cranks (minus BB)
    Pedals
    Back wheel
    Front tyre to pick up
    Chainring to pick up

Its getting there, slowly but surely!

  • You've pretty much got the lot then! Lets see some pics then...

  • nice skills there kiddo!

  • madd skilllz

  • see him down at bay a fair amount. might not be a dakota, but hes still a shredder.

Reminds me of this bowl in Amsterdam:

It made us wish we had gone on BMX's but I doubt the previous 500 miles would have been very pleasurable if we had done...

    Awesome!

That brings back memories, I haven't been to the Rom for around 2 years I think.
Ahhh I spent many a sunday there as a yoot!

  • I've never been to Rom, heard a lot about it though. James, when you get your 24 built we'll go for a session/day.

Yes definitely, its flippin awesome, you can't see the other cools bowls as well from that video, the moguls, and the bullet which is some long bath shaped bowl :)

  • I've got a load of BMX videos that I've just found while clearing out the attic. They're all VHS, but if anyone's interested they're free to a good home. Pickup from Barking preferred, but I can post at cost if you want - bit bulky though.

    Vids are:

Props Roadfools 2, 3, 4 and 7 and Roadfools Europe (all riding guaranteed 531)
    Best of Roadfools
    Props Year End 2000
    Props Best of 1998
    Props Passport
    Clicked 1-6

If I come across any more (think I've got a couple of US Ride ones too) I'll chuck them in.

    EDIT: Just found the following:

    Ride US - Basics
Ride US - Through the Lens
    Seventies - Less is More
    Soul - Spring 2002

If no-one wants them they'll go in the bin, so if you've still got a VHS player and want to see some awesome mid-school riding, give me a bell.

    Cheers...
