Ridiculous riding but it seems so weird that they censored swearing. I can only guess it's to make it more child friendly for the energy drink demographic and their parents, which is really lame.

And it's nice to see the Killjoy sections are being uploaded now. I've been waiting since TCU put up the full length with messed up audio. I will definitely be posting more of these as and when they pop up.

There's no denying that Stevie Churchill is a talented bmxer but some of those lines look so cluttered, just because there is a moment of nothing doesn't mean you need to jam another 360/oppo360/tailwhip/barspin in there.
-
• #2091
^ Agreed.
I see his talented and all but I really hate watching his riding.
There's nothing smooth about it. He just throws the bike around, which I guess could be cool but it's not nice looking or fun to watch. -
• #2092
No way, 2:48 is a great example of Churchill's skill. He rides like a bit of a thug but I thought it made an interesting change to see him hammer through massive techy combos.

I'm not questioning his skill, it just comes down to a personal preference. I love seeing a really technical ledge combo and seeing Stevie mix up the burly tricks with a the combos on the green ledge was refreshing, but that doesn't change the fact that to me he is the street version of the park kid trying to jam another trick into his footjam combo or hurricane-esque box trick. 720s, 540 bars, 360 whips are all park tricks in my eyes and don't really sit right when done in the streets, simplicity is key and using your surroundings is far more important than fitting as many tricks as humanly possible into a single line.
Obviously this opinion isn't shared by all as Stevie has an almost cult following, he throws himself down huge stuff and does tricks that others don't do. If this is what people want to watch then I'm not going to belittle them and tell them they're wrong but I know I'd much rather kick back and watch something a little less forced.

i think the comment that he rides like a thug is the most on point. it's all too aggressive, granted his skill is incredible but he muscles too much stuff. it did feel a little like the street equivalent of a alex colbourn video.
having said that, the truck down el toro is insane -

^Is that what the general public think bmx is about? I'm not even going to press play, dressing up like the Michelin man and jumping over one of Evil Knievil's old jumps infront of thousands of people who secretly want you to fall off is about as far as you can possibly get from the reason I ride a little bike.
Anyway here's Chase Hawk cruising around Austin with some fancy filming by Joe Simon.
