Here's the new Figuredeal video. Loads of Southbank and Stockwell footage, and plenty of London street.

It's weird watching people I know.

Haha do you ever film Object?
-
• #1691
Nah, it's not my thing.
I know that some people thrive on filming as it's what forces them to progress and try ever harder tricks. I think it's amazing that so many people do film and would be devastated if everyone else stopped.
But for myself, I love that my riding is completely pointless, a waste of time which is immediately consigned to the past. I don't need to see it to know what I've achieved and wouldn't get enjoyment from watching it either. Past glories and all that.

haha fair play. yeah i feel that, doing it for you and you only

I can appreciate your view on filming Object. I went through a stage where I mainly rode on my own and have many achievements that are only known to myself. I could go back and try them again for camera but don't feel the need as I already have the memories.
However now I have a fairly solid scene around me and I use filming to document this, couple this with the ability to edit it without any real constraints lets me feel like I can give back to bmx. I've been working on a full length street video and it's been a very satisfying process, hopefully everyone involved will be as hyped as I am once it's finished.

This is precisely why I love videos like Strangeways.
It's seeing a small scene, as shot by it's own riders. I love that shit. It's like an insight into a particular friendship group and their take on what BMX is.I look forward to seeing your edit.

Thanks. I've got no real deadlines so it'll be done when it's done. I'll definitely put a link up when the time comes.
