  • It's been nice not really knowing you.

  • Someone could accidentally knock the 3 from the start of your number. You feel more like a 942 anyway.

  • 2009, but yes.

  • I find it impossible to keep up with the forum at the moment and hardly read anything. The noise generated by chatter has reached levels that I'm no longer comfortable with. Trying to 'catch up' on the forum is pointless, as the minute you 'do' real life again, it's back up 120 unread threads in no time, and that's only subscribed threads. Let's face it, us oldies are too numpty for this forum.

  • splinter group?

  • Yes, one only for those who have more than one bike.

  • :(

  • There is a bike in my shed which is your IoM bike.

    31trum now has two bikes.

  • I've got a bike in East London any time 31trum needs it.
    Now you have 3 bikes.

/I'm Murtle and so's my wife

  • He's not touching any of my bikes.

  • I'm not too precious as this is the bike I was talking
    about.

  • I think mine will be safe.

    cheers Em.x

  • Just to reiterate:

Regarding your question about things that could be done to quell the tide of obnoxiously self-obsessed and yet paradoxically vacuous drivel that's suffusing things at the moment, how about capping the daily post rate. Even if it was fairly generous e.g. 25 posts per day max, I could see it pushing the quality vs quantity swingometer back in the right direction.

Why do you feel the need to "catch up" with the forum?

Narrow your interests down to the important stuff only (such as the meme thread and the coffee thread) and let everything else go and fuck itself to hell.

Oh, I have very clear preferences in some ways and an increasing number of threads on ignore (including the meme thread :) ), but there are threads in which something interesting is posted occasionally, but in which it is drowned out by so much chatter that it's now harder to find it than it used to be. If I haven't been on the forum for three days and I get on it again to find that some threads have grown by eight pages in the meantime, I often don't want to read/skip all of that.

  • the prolific posters like to post "funny" back and forth stuff. its drivel which i dont understand.

  • Whats sad is that i fear that in 2 years im going to be ambilient to this place, even resistant and belligerent.

Ive already been accused of being part of the furniture.

  • I'm also scared of becoming ambilient. I don't know what it means, but it sounds bad.

  • Another shit chatting thread.... Disappoint.

*goes back to the touring bikes thread
