  • well, i may as well try. 1% chance of success, but still...

  • Anyone know anything about the red-surfaced one here?:
    http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=portpool+lane&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=9.546058,22.543945&ie=UTF8&t=h&ll=51.529612,-0.099746&spn=0.004706,0.009613&z=17

Yeah, i saw that too, rode past it a lot, but never really looked in properly, Don't think it's lit, it's in an estate, so lighting may be ok, but may also be full of scallies.

  • there's a court in an estate near columbia road which is floodlit. I can't remember its exact location but i've been there with trixies

we had access to the lights, but council locked it all up :(

Are you guys talking about this one on Roberta Street? http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=florida+street+e2&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&resnum=1&ct=title

As far as I know that one is always lit (albeit poorly) since it's there for the highrise flats either side of it.

  • right, spoke to Stanley, the area manager, he's going to get the Hackney lighting department to go down and have a look at the lights that are there (old post with two floods at top, knackered) and get a cost for renewing them.

If they can set up lights, I may be able to get a key, but it's a slim chance. I'm gonna email him more details now and start the ball rolling...

  • Good work Gabes.

  • it's an ideas day. look out for my central drive train thread ;)

Thought we'd settled that one on Monday night! ;)

  • I think it may also be worth looking for something covered with the large amount of rain we have been having. Multi story carparks with high ceilings.

Not so easy on google though.

    cool dude!

  • peckham, those who know, know. Those who don't, won't.

  • there's a lit court by Florida Street ( one of the streets off ) , it's not massive but lit up .
I think this is the one Juliet meant .
( if anyone has been to our old house then it's exactly opposite the kitchen window )

The Columbia Rd court has been discussed further with a council official lately and they were quick to put the new locks on so we can't use it, but are really slow in actioning anything to help us use it again. WTF

  • Pitfield Street, just north of last night's party. Lights; no locks on the court.

  • N15 - overbury road, just off of seven sisters road (2 mins past manor houe tube). the court pictured in google maps has been refinished, has flood lights, built in goals set away from the walls, slightly domed floor so puddles can't form, nice surface - not too gritty not too slick, and i know some people who live just in front of it.

    Nice ball(s)!

Those were the courts originally meant for the Shoreditch tourney. Multiple courts, more games, no single elimination...

The pavement is crumbling and would grind the flesh off you if you fell. No traction for tires either and the ball would be everywhere!

that area is a dump :p

  • maybe? but a fantastic court. and close offies!

  • I'm really sorry about your ball, Tom. In my defence, it was the Kroney what made me do it...

  • Don't apologise about my ball Ian, the other one might get jealous.

  • oh sweet jesus... OK, I'll deface your other ball when I see you next...

  • ?

  • He drew a willy and some dangly bits on it.

  • yes but the other one is inside.

  • No the other one is halfway down my thigh after my epic balls-to-stem polo fail on saturday.

  • lofting road and highbury fields have wicked spots at both?
