Isn't the south court lit? Not that I would ever go there, but you know, it's reassuring to think that South London isn't a total waste of space.

good shout tom...peel those eyes.
-
• #4
good call tom. A few people mentioned the car park where trixiedix is, but I think the ceilings are way too low and we'd end up smashing lights with the mallets.
I'll keep an eye out for places...
-
• #5
the winter is gonna be all about the Peckham Car Park surely. lit to fuck. concrete columns. doggers. fuckin A
-
• #6
i hear yer daddyo.... thats a big ten four.... but theres got to be one more central... lit covered etc.
-
• #7
yeah we need to find it. got to be some urban places crying it for polo led regeneration.
failing that (which we won't) then would almost be worth hiring one of the 5-a-side power league places. like 20 of us a couple quid each will get us a couple of hours. just throwing it out there.
it's an ideas day. look out for my central drive train thread ;)

Hmm, winter and polo disk wheel. None compatible.
Maybe I need another hub so I can build another spare front wheel. -
• #9
On the disk wheel front i was thinking theres got to be another way to protect dem spokes with less wind resistance... mesh?
-
• #10
Chicken wire!

• #11
there's a court in an estate near columbia road which is floodlit. I can't remember its exact location but i've been there with trixies
-

I reckon you could do something good with your bitchin stitchin skills - material with a nice wide weave, like hessian sacking, so wind can pass through without too much resistance.

car!
-
• #19
The surface at Clissold Park is grit, and there are no lights, and gets locked at a stupidly early time in winter.

Gillot Sq in Dalston?

i'm about to call the area manager for hackney parks and open spaces to see if we can get the lights working at the NE Court!

f**k that then!

dude, we went through this ring roll at columbia rd. supposedly they only work during 9-5, hence won't come and turn them on or off.
try though. then you get the neighbours complaining :(
So I've caught the polo bug, but frustratingly the evenings are already getting shorter - the last game is played at about 9:00pm at the moment, and it's only going to get worse. What happened to endless summer evenings?! So, what's the deal in winter? Is there already a designated carpark / floodlit court anywhere? (I don't think the evening polo sessions were up and running last winter.)
It's jumping the gun a bit, I know, but keep an eye out for suitable places as you spin through town and list them here.
