Did you consider having a nobby thing where a left lever might have been, so you can get on the hoods? That'd be a nice way out of getting a top lever...

those are the 27x1s on your recommendation. they are great.

Modules/modolos - sweet as. i could put a dummy hood on there, but i have to restore the other lever.

I had Fizik on my first fixed, on the drops before I switched to bullhorns, and it was bloody awful. Did someone say gel though? Didn't have any of that...

Using Bontrager now and it's great - only the red stuff I use does go pink rather quickly.

shoddy bar tape done by me, is fizik. it's all i could get down here. like i said, it's really irritating taping around hoods, especially if you haven't got the knack because you haven't done it for years. i'll redo it tomorrow i expect. i see the spazzy bits clear as day.

thanks for all the compliments, doing a renovation (or paying for someone else to do it, paintwise) is kind of satisfying, although i feel like i've become my dad.

well, it was raining all day, so i didn't go out. then it stopped, and dried up a bit, so i went out into the road and went up and down three times very slowly.

from that i can concur that it rides like a dream, smooth as anything, light, not whippy or anything though, just utterly assured and effortless.

yeah, they make gel strips to put under your tape, it seems like good stuff
