  • fitted to the monster hybrid. i can see how they might be a bit tight in some situations. 32s look skinny as well. i quite like the reflective sidewall.

  • Questions...

    1. Has anyone seen 25c Randonneurs yet, or heard if that's indeed happening?

    2. Has anyone found a reliable source for 28c Randonneurs without the reflective strip?

    Thankingyouplease.

    Wiggle.

  • Good work, Thanks.

And Parker International so long as you write a little note asking for them in the comments box when placing an order

  • Good work, Thanks.

If it's not too late, I recommend specifying you don't want the reflective strip when placing the order.

  • am i the only one who likes the reflective strip?
I gots fat randos on GH2.

  • You vain bastards, the reflective strip is only stuck on anyway, just pull it off if you care that much.

  • ^ fucking poseurs

  • I'm not fucked about the strip, in fact I have 2 of them with the strip at home.

  • thats NOT what you were saying last night party boy.

oh yeah and skully wants his coat back...

  • Haha! I said nothing of the sort

and I do not know the chap so cannot comment on that

  • I just spent an hour trying to put one on, not realising that I should probably use a tyre lever.

I've never used a lever to install a tyre before so didn't think it would help.

    It did.

I now have a huge blister on my thumb for no reason.

For the record this is the first time I've struggled with a Rando, having used them for most of this year.

  • And now I've just realised somewhere along the line I nipped the tube with the tyre lever and I now have a puncture.

I cannot get the tyre off.

Words cannot express how angry I am. I was planning to go to bed early so I could ride over 15 miles in the morning for GSIAD. Supposedly with a new tyre.

    FUCK. THIS.

    /rant.

  • Are you sure you don't need advice from me?

  • I have a funny feeling you'll only make things worse.

    +1

It's going on a pretty bike that should really have race tyres.

and before you ask... yes it is hard work looking this good.

  • i've got 28s. went from really light 23s and felt a difference so dropped my gearing a little and they feel fine (maybe due to extra rolling resistance or size, dunno).

Good in the wet nd cheap value.

I was using at about 95psi and they were fine. dropped down to 85 on the front as i've hurt my wrist and it still feels fairly fast and bounces out of pot holes on drunken rides well.

They popped on easy to my rigida chrisna rims fine and they are only rated to 25mm.

    No reflective strip on mine

  • I've now got 2x 28c Randos on the Surly, and mudguards. I love it.

These ones were a fucking bitch to get on but I did it eventually. I now have a HUGE blister on my thumb to show for it.

Also they were the reflective strip ones, but I just ripped that off. Leaves a bit of residue/glue so you end up with a little grey stripe around the tyre where it was once reflective. Looks nice though.

My last one I had on the rear lasted for 4 1/2 months of daily cycling, brakeless. I like these tyres alot.

  • Jut put some 28's on, They went on, about 15 mins a tyre but damn my thumbs hurt. they should call them 'thumbfuckers'
Also running them at 95 psi front and 105 on the back. seems fine. Maybe fractionally slower but that could just be the wind this morning.

  • *Thumbfuckers *indeed.

  • Megan clearly rides Rando's

  • i'd clearly be glad chop off both my thumbs and install the randos' with nothing but my eyebrows if only i could......

  • so if you put 95-100 psi to the Randonneurs of 85 psi, that mean i have no problem to put 160 psi to my vittoria zaffiro marked at 145 psi max
