What type of wanted ad were you looking to place? asm generally can provide most things that people want and, if he can't, I am sure Balki will do his best.

Baki, before you came here, you thought culture was something that grew between your toes.
That reminds me of a joke.
What's the difference between Australia and a yogurt?
If you leave a yogurt long enough it'll grow it's own culture.

I was trying that with cycling socks but my flatmate shoved them (screaming for mercy) into the washing machine this morning.
They had only been under the coffee table for a couple of months.

Oliver the joke was about Australia not Austria and in any event Anchluss is an outdated concept. We are all European now.

Clive, you should know that I read with precision. I can assure you that there is certainly a very distinct culture in Austria. Oh yes.
And dare I request that if you're going to Godwin yet another thread (I think we're getting on for three or four now in the very recent past), please at least look up how to spell "Anschluß" first. ;)
(My problem with your use of such terms is that I know that they are basically Nazi terminology, which really should be avoided. The same goes for terms like "Lebensraum" and other poorly-understood concepts which for some reason have become comedy staples--and yes, because of their tragic historical associations their application will by default be unsuccessful in contexts intended to be humorous.)

Yet people say that Germans have no sense of humour? ;p
