  • Done a search but they are about stripping&polishing Alu parts and l can't post a new topic so...

... i'm a new owner of a lovely Campag Ti seatpost. However there are some insertion marks that are proving stubborn buggers to remove. After nearly 3weeks of on-off buffing with car bodywork cleaner does anyone have any better ideas? Ta

  • Good morning! just here to introduce myself, I'm currently a student, and seem to be spending all my money on bikes! I recently bought a 1962 harry quinn track frame, i'm currently building it, i'l post pictures when i'm finished.
I like to see me as a bit of a budding entrepaneur! and in the not so distant future i wish to set up my own online bussiness, selling very reasonably priced bike parts, saddles, components etc.
I am passionate about bike's, and so i understand how expensive building a bike can be! and so i will strive to offer a well priced and personalised service.

Look forward to posting more regulary once i am accepted as a full member, and getting to know this wonderfull community :)

Ps note to admin, if i ever say anything out of line just tell me off but please don't ban me, i recently posted 5 pointless posts in this same "nursery" and was then banned, i have learnt from my mistakes and will try to contribute intelligently to this wonderful forum!

    Peace and ride safely.

  • Hi, i recently had some cranks old alloy cranks which had the old anodize finsh very sctrached, i wished to get rid of them and so took them to the metal work apartment of my college and was able to leave them looking pristine and sctratchless, i had to use serious industrial machinery for this, i think your best bet is serious equipment, although be carefull because its very easy to remove a couple of mm's from the circumference of your seatpost and then your shiny new seatpost is ruined!

    Good luck

  • Hi mrjamieburn. Welcome to the forum. Before you go starting a new thread for help with building a new fixed gear. Use the serch function and see if you can find what you need there. There is a welth of imformation on here without the need to start a new thread. Have fun. Oh, and get to a drinks and speek to people face to face (with a couple of beers).

  • cheers pinkgotti, yeah i've been reading up about it all for the last week or so and feel i have gathered a fair bit of info from here and other websites, only the frames good to go on the bike i have so i've gotta try n track down everything else i need and hopefully at a low expense!

beers sounds good, i'll get down to one soon enough hopefully!

They're not scratched, just have scuff marks that have discoloured the Ti. Also, they more satin finish; not highly polished. I would just leave but but they are above the seat clamp. Most annoying.

    Anyone else....?

  • hello siblings of the wheel, i come here in peace and harmony and a 67985m one handed wheelie!!

  • I heard ononelangster did a 67986m long one handed wheelie, but that could just be a rumour.

What does the M stand for?
If its moths then it is neither big or clever.
A moth is for life, not just for christmas.

  • its time to ride!!!!!!

  • stands for maltesers!!!!! mmmmmmmmm

  • im seeking old steel track frame 52-55cm for a new project, non drilled pref... any ideas?

  • DOnt waste your 5 posts like this Nippon. You will get put back in the nersery.

Other than that. Welcome. Have a look through the classifides and shopping for the frame. Also look at the ebay listings.

  • There is lots of stuff on ebay but i hate the idea of an auction, its like everyone trying to get on the bus at the same time, especially in brixton after 6pm haha, whoever has luck on their side wins, instead i just want to be a consumer and buy it right there and then, maybe its me being grumpy after a few jars too many last night!!

  • Am l still in the can or can l post a question or 2? cheers
