Do all the threads come back clean so it's easy to get the BB and headset back on?

Yup, just grease it up proper

Do all the threads come back clean so it's easy to get the BB and headset back on?
I recently had a frame/fork shot-blasted and powdercoated.
Before I delivered the F&F, I protected headtube and BB-shell with big steel spacers (M12 / M16), kept together with a threaded rod and nuts.
This protected the sides of the headtube and the BB shell well.
Unfortunately, the paintshop removed the washers fron the head tube, because they had to hang the frame somehow. :-(
Anyway, the BB shell came out very clean and the headtube had some paint. I could easily remove this with a file. Same for the inside of the seat tube.
Before I removed the washers, I cut the painted edges with a hobby knife, to avoid that I would damage the paint when taking off the washers. The top of the threaded steerer tube,I covered with masking tape. Also worked well.

Armourtex do a pretty decent job of masking the vital areas from powder, although the phosphate coating covers all the metal and may need reaming/facing/chasing if things were on the tight side before, as the coating has a non-zero thickness.

Threaded hub axles are great files...

I need some cranks powdercoated black.
If anyone is getting a frame done in the same colour, can they let me know and i'll pay a bit extra for my item and therefore bring the cost of yours down.
Cheers

Hey, I got my bike done by Armourtex in a matt finish called 'grey/brown'. It looks the business. A really deep chocolate brown that has some charcoal black also mixed into it, and the finish comes out with an eggshell sheen. Everyone comments on it. Would recommend it for those thinking of going matt black.
Sounds the nuts, any chance of a pic or even the RAL number?

That wasn't really the effect I was going for, but as Conti HomeTrainers only come in that shade of yellow it does look like some sort of colour coordination is happening.
I love those forks.

It's only a cheap and nasty Kinesis RoadFoil

I'm thinking about getting my new frame sprayed there, not powder coated. Anybody have an idea how well the jobs turn out?

Anyone know what the score is with getting the larger type of metal flakes done in a powdercoat? I'd like to get the bigger flakes but less of them... Anyone seen a p/c frame like that?

OK, here's my respray.
the bike is a Bianchi Pista with a 3Rencho fork. to paint it I used rattle can primer, base color (BMW's Mini "Electric Blue") and clear lacquer. (yes, it is small, size 51).

Great job. That's going to look lovely. All silver parts?
And did the fork cost more than the frame?

thanks (everyone). painting with the rattle cans turned a hell to get it right, and some parts don't look perfect, though that can't be seen on the photos.
all parts are going to be silver.
got the fork from NJS Export not because it was a 3Rensho, but because it was the only one I found that I thought that would go well (aesthetically) with the frame. the fork was $120, and I bought the Pista 2nd hand for 400€ (before knowing what the Pistadex was, etc.).

I know, I know (now). at least it was only 3 months old and unused, and can't get them here were I live without importing.
Is anybody having anything sprayed white soon? I'm getting my frame done in blue but would like white forks without having to pay an extra £45. If I could pay for a piggyback (ahem) on somebody elses order that would be awesome.
