Cheers, I'd like to know how that goes, I think I'm going to go for RAL 9001/1013, gloss. I'll post some pictures as soon as I pick it up.

be warned when i went in there they didnt have all colours in all finish the colour i wanted was only in matt and i ended up with a compromise in satin which was fine cause i didnt have my heart too set on anything
I chatted to the guy a little and he said once sprayed if you take it away they wont laquer it just because it is too hard to get it clean enough again for the lacquer to adhere properly
so i am going to pick out the lugs chuck some home made decals on and then lacquer it myself and he said i would do best to use poly urethane based paint and also lacquer but always make sure both paint and lacquer have the same bas ingriediant. I did a lil research of my own and it seems poly urethane laquer drys far harder than standard because it is basically liquid plastic.Picking the bike up tommorow i went for a deep blue grey (cant remember the RAL code) with white lugs it should look sick photos soon

When i was in their last (i seem to be going weekly at the mo!) i enquired if they had anyone who could do pinstripeing, or lug lining , and they said they had tried it a couple of times, but didnt have great success.
I suggested it might be worth having an arrangement with someone to do it for them

Indeed it does. Can you actually tell from that photo or are you pulling my leg? ;)
I swear it gets clearer every time I look at it but I think it's just my brain playing tricks. I will eventually mask it off and strip it back.

I used to work for Raleigh back in the 90's, when they actualy made bikes & we used to get our bikes & any old stuff run through the paint shop.
I got to know the paint chemist very well &he would come out with some crazy colours.
These guys are putting out some nice stuff though, a good powdercoater is hard to come by, a bit far to travel from the midlands though.

Just wanted to add this to the proper thread.ArmourTex Powder Coat - RAL 2003 - Orange Metallic
Very nice! That's just how I wanted my frame to look, but for some reason (can't remember now, lack of stock maybe) I just had to go with a flat orange.

Lovely. But this post is useless without a RAL number. :)
