really nice mate, a black brooks B17 would've look top, but then, you can try getting those brown brooks handlebar tapes, cheaper that way methinks.

Looks really classy.
I'd go for a black saddle. -
• #4
nice!
maybe an italian saddle? -
• #5
black suede or nubuck saddle.
very nice.

Those Cinelli frames are stunning. And the yellow looks great.
Brown brooks tape would finish it off, plus maybe a bit of a saddle chop. [/my 2p]

A black brooks swallow saddle would've been top notch, I mean after you managed to spend shitload (assuming that what you did) on the bike, might as well knitted it out with quality compound (and yes I did notice that brooks B-17 of your is those expensive version).

or a brooks swift, whichever rock your bike.

It's a bleeding Cinelli it needs to be an Italian stallion
that Brooks looks dreadful
get a turbo or a concors in black
C-Record Cranks wouldn't hurt niether
Incidently you have TOO MANY nice frames Mr Jonhings...:)

I'm with the-smiling-buddha (btw, when are we going to see the black chrome Pinarello?) - get rid of that Brookes off an Italian classic!
Nice looking frame though.

The Brooks is going now.... what was I thinking?! You'll see the Pinarello when I can get a nice replacement fork so I can run a brake. Its good to go otherwise.

I don't want to be picky but it really needs C-record cranks to go with them sherrifs stars and I'd lose the open pros for some period rims pretty sharpish
The black Chrome Pinarello is in Chicago I'll be picking it up in September to be built up with C-record BUT I have a dilemma over the rims ...it would look so sweet with white tires but I can't find no white tubs...:(

What do c-record pista cranks look like? Can't see any.
Show us the black chrome pin then!

Ahh thanks. I think prefer my vintage record pista chainset thanks mate. Cheers for the advice on the seat though

That me lad is well tarty.

Except I don't think Campagnolo made Sherrifs star hubs until the C-record groupset come out so you got 1970-80 cranks with 1980's -90's hubs with 2000 and something rims which is OK with some frames but on a Cinelli? me being 'picky' would probably have decided on one era and done it from the same group ....
This is the black chrome pinni
Then I think this would look ace with a C-record group but period very incorrect white tyres
Each to his own and I am not being critical jon just sharing my obsession
Incidently that Cinelli frame is to bloody die for

Didn't think that for a second! I don't know as much as you about components, I just go for parts I like the look of really, and sherrif stars and fluted engraved pista cranks give me the horn - I use them on every build. Not Brooks anymore though! Plus that saddle was murder to ride on!
Any advice on rims appreciated - I was thinking of some black vintage rims but don't know where to start. They have to be practical enough for my daily commute.
That pin looks wicked by the way

Durex rims
Omega's or Victory strada
Lots of beautiful rims to be found on ebay
http://www.yellowjersey.org/cherchi.html
But then you would have to ride tubs
Clinchers are tricker I mean when did they ever make sexy clicher rims
You could try mavic41 or some other period touring rim more practical for commuting
But those sheffif need SEX if it were me i'd be looking for Durex rims and a tough Roubaix tubular tire
-
• #22
are the durex rims ok to roll-on?
(sorry...)
-
• #23
Brooks look good on the right bike just not that bike
-

Very nice build jonhings!
Agree with the above comments, would look so much better with suede Cinelli saddle.I'm also in the process of building up a classic italian track bike. Trying to keep everything Italian and vintage but finding decent clincher rims that weren't way too expensive was proving to be quite a challenge so I plumped for a pair of open pros as well in the end. I'd take the stickers off though to make it less obvious ;-)
Finally got it together today. Not sure about the brown brooks anymore though. Any suggestions?
