i gave up wet shaving about a year ago and now i use a phillips vacuum electric trimmer to maintain my beard. i always hated the chore of shaving and much prefer a to trim my bear once every two weeks or so.
my dad and brother also have the philips vacuum which they use while driving to work.
when i wetshaved i found the wilkinson two blade disposabes the best, and of the replacable head shavers total shit. they work great for one shave, but i dont want to have to buy a new blade for every shave when theyre so expensive.
i might actually have to start shaving again just so ca use a safty razor!

It's dangerous enough just keeping one of them as a pet, let alone shaving them.

They have 16978 members of that forum. I know that more people shave than ride bicycles but still. I find that quite extraordinary.

+1
when i do wet shave, i use a cut throat. nothing like shaving with a razor that's about 70 years old.

Nothing like putting the safety of your face in your hands before breakfast.

makes you enjoy breakfast even more. also, saying "if i'm not out of the bathroom in twenty minutes, please check on me."

Taylors of Old Bond Street make some good shaving soap. not too expensive either.

Trumpers cream , a decent brush and a Merkur and you can't go wrong.
Takes a bit time to get used to it , be prepared for a bit of blood....but once you have it dialed then you will wonder whats the point of a five blade when a single blade does it all and only costs 40p a blade.

my phillips electric shaver is the best. with electric shavers you have you use them for a month to let your face get used to them, then they are closer. For a month they are terrible. Then they they rock.

I go to a place on stroud green road, just behind the bus stop close to the old dairy.
Cut, shave and hot towel for £15. The guy is the only way so far that I found to get a shave without bleeding. Everyone else and everything I tried myself led to an absolute bloodbath.Occasionally I do it myself, and usually end up going through 3 blades, but still bleeding like a slaughtered pig.

Honestly I do find that the multi blade razors are better and this is the best I've come across...
The pulse really does give a closer shave... I have incredibly thick stubble and electric razors just don't cut it for me... Equally disposable razors give me wicked razor burn anytime I use them... I would like to try a double edge or cut throat shave though, never had either but unless I got in the habit of shaving everyday with them it just wouldn't be practical...
Mrs. Nahguavkire refuses to go near me if I haven't shaved that day as the stubble gives her rash all over her face and neck :(

Hahaha. I like beards and smooth, I just hate the stubble part. On blokes that is.
I bought a real badger hair brush from these guys 25 years ago. I think it cost like half a weeks wages at the time. I only shave once or twice a week but always use this brush, it still looks and feels brand new. I reckon it will be my sons inheritance when I die. Always use a safety razor too. You can forget electric they are a waste of time. As is all this triple blade rubbish. Buy a good safety razor and it will last a lifetime. If not that then single blade Bics, shave against the hairs and your clean shave will last longer too.
