Is it me, or does it not look like a Unipac/Create with some make-up splashed on?
The one-size only is defo a bit suss.

"Drops the bar"??? They probably mean exactly that.

Since they were good enough to still sell you the bike at the sale price, I've included them in the Cycle Shops list.
I also notice they're selling the stupendously priced Kona Grand Wagon. Only £1,655.99. ;)
How would one ride on the brake hoods? They seem a bit far down the drops...
And the wheelset? Surely that belongs on the track, whereas the rest of the bike is road-orientated.Personally, I think it's very confused.

Not really (apart from the silly handlebar set-up), these wheelset are perfectly fine to ride on the road as well.

my LBS had a really classy looking viner track bike for £850, not sure if it's the one listed in the under £1000 section or not, it's not either of the ones on their site. Any ideas what it was?

I had 3 Viner track and singlespeed bikes listed, but the Viner site has been neutered.
The photos are still there though, as are the correct names in the listings.Viner Citta - in this thread's list, on the first page of this thread
Viner Celer Fixed (2 versions) - in the OTPs Over a Grand list
VINER Perfecta + VINER Vigor - in the True Track OTP's list -

Why the Face Palm? What's wrong with it?
As a city runabout, and a cheap one, it seems to tick the boxes.
In fact, I'd be tempted to get one as my snow+ice bike. As long as the inept setting up was corrected, it should be okay. Not good-looking or beautiful, but just okay for the job.

Just hustled up £700 to spend on a new OTP, problem is living in Cornwall there is nowhere to really view or try out any decent fixies so im torn between 3 bikes which I can only judge on what I have found online, plus I have the problem of choosing the right size too... I'm 6'2 with a 34 1/2" inside leg. The three I have narrowed it down to are a Global Roll 2, 'Dale Capo or Fuji Feather. Any info would be appreciated...

hiya. it might be a good idea to have a look at the OTP thread.
there's a huge amount of info on there and it's well worth a read. -

one of these is about the globe roll, the other has otp choices. You're quite tall though...

Which our benevolent mergatron will no doubt merge this with soon ....

to be fair, his requirements are a bit more specific. I have a M (?) Globe Roll 2 and it comes up quite small I guess. (http://www.globebikes.com/us/en/globe/GlobeBike.jsp?pid=10ROLL2#/geometry/)

Hmmm cheers, had a good trawl through them & I am leaning towards the Roll 2, in a Large I think, I ride a 19.5 full susser which is spot on & a rigid old skool Kona which is a 19" & a little small (but i love her!) so Im thinking the Large should be okay... I hope!

Don't think it's worth it, the roll i mean, it have all the appearance of a fixie skidder but less of the comfort.
find a big bike shop where you live and see if they have any single speed bicycle around to try out, that'll be my best bet.
it's worth noting that it's best to try the bike out before you buy them, it's quite a personal choice, what work for other may not work for you.

Someone selling cinelli mash for 500 on here. Buy that and save 200 on your budget.

F+F only...?
-
• #870
The Globe roll is pretty pricey for what it is, I'd still plump for a fuji track 09 as an OTP in that price range.
The Cinelli mash is really nice, and you might be able to squeeze everything else out of the 200 budget with careful sourcing..

spend £700 buying all the parts seperatley, 2nd hand. For that money you'll get one helluva bike, so much more than an OTP
-
• #872
Oh, I'll buy a pint for the first person who knows what I'm going to say...
-
• #873
steamroller?
-
• #874
And aside from my usual advice, all three of those bikes aren't my cuppa, and the roll is not with the doe-ray-me.
The handlebars and saddle will have to be replaced immediatly, and for the amount that the bike is you shouldn't have to change a thing.

steamroller?
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner.

Saw this in the window of my LBS this evening. At least it's cheap. Claud Butler Courier £299.
