I didn't take many photographs(that came out well) but here is a good one:
that is why you never ever build wheels with alloy nipples. they are shit! -

Yep, really good to meet people. Next time I will go for bagels and not stay and drink whisky and sambuca. Rode 5 miles in the wrong direction home then stacked it into a pole, bending my break lever. That made a grand total of 3 stacks, one in the tunnel when I snapped my mud guard off. Definitely up for the next one!

Props to the Pathfinder John... AWESOME night.
Thanks to all of you that made it a mad night - all the old faces for actually turning up - there's a lot of people who were sorely missed, I guess the track day had some effect on that :( Good to meet some new people too, natch.
Jaygee thanks for psychedlic chitchat, fred, STB et al for lightening the darkness, Rik for good times, loads of other people for loads of other good things. Marlon sorry for breaking your light, and leading you astray over that little kerb without warning you, fred sorry for not mentioning that rail track thing! All these spanks have made me think we need a code of riderly conduct: We need to all start giving each other a bit more warning about what's coming up, espcially on a John-route that uses about only 5% roads. There was a lot of quiet when people should have been warning those behind about upcoming hazards. Rant over.
Best beigel I've had in ages.

Hello folks,
I just wanted to say thanks a lot for a great ride on Saturday. A lot of this forum seems to be people having a go at eachother, so I turned up not knowing what to expect, but it was lovely. The ride bits were great and the stopping bits were good too. Liked the attitude of everyone stopping if someone had a puncture etc and the route was well thought out.
Went home feeling high.
Thanks again from the Rasta on pink bike.
Peace and Love,
Tim -

John was at the front do that and I was up and down the group all night doing the same, the problem was that the mexican wave of warning was not getting passed back.

What a great night. It needs to happen more often I reckon. Does anyone have the times for the TT?

Yep, some people give a fuck. Maybe some busybody could, at the beginning of these rides, mention this to everyone for the benefit of those who maybe haven't ridden like this before.
JAH Tim, glad you joined us. The night rides are what first got me out on my bike for longer than my daily commute, they're really special.

did that guy we abandoned make it home?

did that guy we abandoned make it home?
Not to my knowledge, no. There are rumours that he's currently somewhere in the wilderness, doomed to wander around with punctures for all time.

Important point of order:
We had a few punctures that night which we were able to either patch or replace the tubes.
Fella had a tub wheel with no spare so other than pointing him in the direction of the DLR and civilisation there wasn't much we could do.
Hope he got back all right.

Great night, thanks a lot for making me feel welcome on my first forum ride.
I was good to put face to names, although Im struggling now to remember in which order they go, might be the whiskey has something to do with that... No worries though, I never forget a face!
Look forward to seeing you all at drinks.

good plan. i know some of this went on, and i gladly passed on the shout that stopped me running straight into a kerb as we left the tt area, hopefully it helped someone.
the other crap thing was the litter issue. it got mentioned somewhere in the thread about if you can carry full tins you can carry empty ones... guess some folks missed that bit.
anyhow, other than that, what a ride eh. aces to the organiser and route masters for taking us motley fuckers out and about. shame i missed out on the brick lane end of night malark but super glad i came along. nice folks, banter and goodness.

Has the dude with the not so cool tires/tubes got home yet? Until next time
That would be me... Sampled the rest of London's transport on the way home, the DLR and tube are very unwelcoming to stranded cyclists.
Anyway, didn't put a dampener on the night at all, had a super fun time and can't wait for the next one. Thanks for everyone for waiting whilst I figured out the best way to get back. Might be a Zipp and a Campy wheel up for sale soon so I can come on more!
Great night! -

so, you've just got home then..?

I thought the warnings were pretty good though at one point I am sure someone in front of me shouted "Turkish meat".

Ohhh, I wish I'd been there! But it was such a gorgeous night that a friend and I decided to make the most of it, and rode up to Cambridge for breakfast. We left at 1am, and hardly saw a car till 5. (If anyone's interested in doing this, there are likely to be repeat performances...)
