Yeah but I am nearly twice your age Ray, twice your weight and only about a quarter as fit ;-)

You are all wimps.
I did it last week. My time is already laid down. It is time for some others to step up.

Dont you guys live round there... you should be pissing on the faces of all us east hipsters. My commute is less than a spit... would love to ride that turd of a hill every day. +1 what mike said.
You want me to piss in your face?

That is true. My comment was directed at those yet to do it and trotting out excuses.
I will have another crack at it when my time is beaten. Which shouldn't be too long as it wasn't a super quick time -

I expect, come spring when it is light again, the times will be getting quicker. I hate going down that hill in the dark with my poor eye sight and all those bloody speed bumps and pot holes

That TT is not going to be good in the wet... in the dark... with an owl!
I'm fitting a front brake at the weekend, makes those wet decents a little less skiddy-skid-fuck!But i am laying my time next week. I am out this evening - last game of the season.

You wouldn't know that if you didn't insist on coming to the toilet with me and chatting about make up and boys.

wont be up tonight. not least cos of the pressure of the tt course! but also i don't think my legs can cope with the climb, but also my stomach can't cope with amy more booze, see ya'l on thu
-
• #688
You can go via Archway Road, it's an easier climb, then drink Coke ;-)
-
• #689
or tufnell park -> darthmouth park hill. That's even easier.
-
• #690
Yeah Dartmouth Park - Not sure it even warrants as a hill as there is actually a down hill bit bang in the middle of it. Whats all that about?
My excuse for not coming is that I have to pick the inlaws up from bloody Stanstead airport at 7.30 What a pain in the arse. Still have to cycle up Highate Hill though, but don't have time to pop in!

You live in East Finchly. You dont have to go up Highgate Hill. You just do it for fun!

I think Donut is at the airport too picking up his GF.

hmmm I wouldn't say fun
More like to get myself as fit as possible as I have a pathological hatred of being beaten on a bike. The more I go up and down that hill, the less likely that is to happen ;) -

Maybe I can give him the details of the old codgers, he can pick them up too and I can come to the pub. I shall PM him ;)

-
• #697
So was there any time trialling going on last night?
-
• #698
No times trials. A bit of a poor turn out in the end. We did go and get really good pizza for £3 at the end of the night though.
-
• #699
yes the weather was a bit grim really
come spring I reckon this will be a popular drinking night
also nice on those cold, dark winter nights. Provided it is not raining -
• #700
We ended up inside. If north drinks can just about stay going untill spring then I agree that it will become more popular. People will fancy the ride up there a bit more. Pip is doing the TT next week.
I'll be at work until after you've left the pub. Have a drink for me please.
