  • Sorry i didnt make it up tonight..
I was on my way and taken out by a car flying out of one of the sideroads on Junctoin Rd, was in A&E till bout 30 minutes ago.

  • WHAT! Nooooo Ross. R u ok?

  • Yea i'm okay, busted wrist, ankle, finger and shoulder but ill be fine soon.
My bike held out great, which is what i was really surprised about, just the rails on the seat were bent out, nothing else damaged, pretty good.
His grill and front light were busted so i guess 2 points for me aswell.

  • Glad you're kinda ok.

  • It's bad to hear that, Ross. Heal up well and don't hesitate to ask for advice on here on what to do. (If you even need to, you've been around for long enough to have read everything several times over.) Better luck from now on!

Oh, and make sure you have the integrity of your bike assessed properly, as there may be damage you can't detect.

  • Yea gave it a good once over when i got home, but i'll check again when there's daylight.

What I mean is: have it checked out by a good bike mechanic/frame builder. I personally wouldn't be able to detect the subtle signs of damage that you can get on a frame myself. Of course, if you're a good mechanic yourself you'll know what to do, anyway.

  • Ah okay,
don't have any cash if it does cost anything, im in no way qualified to check the integrity of a frame but since mine is alloy with what seems to be thin paint i thought any cracks or damage would be obvious,
    not totally sure though,
i wont ride it until i do get it checked out anyway.

I think my leg absorbed all the impact anyway, i mean my wheels aren't even out of true..

  • Shit Ross, that sucks. Hope your not too hurt. See you when you get better.

Good turnout last night. Lots of new faces. Some older faces who havent been about for a while. Good to see you Pigfamer. Good chatting to you Seb and everyone else I spoke to.

  • yeah twas a fine night people, nice to see the north drinks phenomenon growing in size!!!!!! nice to see some new and old and finally pig farmer showed up for annual drink ;)

  • Oh, and after all my swains lane bosting yesterday. I did Highgate Hill to warm myself up then past the pub, down West Hill before ridding back up Swains. It was good fun.

  • sorry bout leaving you at the pizza though dudes,

    You werent missed. ;)

  • Mike, I am going to do some laps next week sometime if you are up for that. Or anyone else who fancies doing some swains training.

  • Yep Andy 100% my cold is clearing up now. I should be back to full fitness next week. Tuesdays or Wednesdays are best

  • Could do a few laps before North Drinks.

  • Good to meet some new folks at Norths last night. Enjoyed it again. See you next time.

  • Nice night chaps, albeit wet on the way home. Good to see that many new faces.

Swains training you say, let me know when.

Ross, glad to hear it wasn't more serious. Heal up soon dude.

  • I don't know you Ross, but it's never nice to come off. Heal up quickly!

Yeah, f*ck you Lee, annual drinks my arse! Now the time changes and the weather gets a little less shitty I'll be up every week again. Ride home took me 40mins. Never taken that long, but the rear tyre has zero grip in the wet.

BTW Cake. The handlebars were well out. serious angling to go in a straight line! ;)

  • Haha, and after all that effort that went into getting them straight.

  • Was the dog ok?

  • yeah, dog was fine, kids were sat around tripping their tits off on acid though

  • yeah, dog was fine, kids were sat around tripping their tits off on the acid I'd left on the coffee table though

Shame on you. Polluting their young minds!
