Does anyone know if there's a jumble on New Years Day this year? Always been a good one in the last few years.

It's listed on here - http://www.hernehillvelodrome.com/racing_events/cycle_jumbles/

Cheer, looked at their calender which doesn't show it.

Went down there at 3:10 and it was deserted. I know I was late, but I'm sure they're usually still going at that time. Bit of a pisser as I needed some Campy oil clips but don't want to pay campyoldy prices.

Thanks mate, I'll keep an eye on those. Cheers.

You were a bit late
They usually start at about 9 and peter out by noon.
Quite low key this year; more for spares than jumble.
I d imagine the next one will be more of a jumble.

Was a bit disappointed there wasn't much, but got some stuff for the missus' bicycle which is nice.
I was there around 11am, was fairly quiet.
-
• #160
I got there at half 9, only about 5 or 6 stalls.
I haven't been before, is it normally busier?
-
• #161
I've seen busier covering almost the entire car park, just mildly surprised it's rather small despite the sunny weather.
-
• #162
Will check out the next one. Still got some stuff I needed so not a wasted trip.
-
• #163
When is the next one?
Also I've never been to one before, are there usually some old and beaten up ex hire track bikes for sale?
Thanks -
• #164
Next one is Easter bank holiday, and this is usually when they sell of their ex hire bikes. Be there super early though as they usually go quick - last time I went one person bought nearly all of them, presumably to sell off later for a profit. This happened within the first 5 minutes.
-
• #165
Wow I hope I'm not away then! Remember what the prices were like?
-
• #166
The ex-hire bikes are priced ok (considering that they're not the greatest frames, etc), think they were about £100 ish.
It's the bikes that some poor numpty has just left in storage and forgotten about that are the better deals: My Roberts was £150! : )

I'd be happy with any track bike that's not a conversion for 100 quid.
-
• #168
Why not? some conversion can be a lots better than most track bicycle.
-
• #169
I understand, like a converted puegot>nologo/unipack shit but I'd really like an old trackbike that's beatup and still rides.
It's mostly the aesthetic side I'm afraid. -

Anyone going on Saturday?
-
• #171
What time?
-
• #172
9-3 apparently.
Never been to HHJ but going by this thread you want to be there at 9 for bargains.
-
• #173
Pefect, I'll try and be there at 9 sharp.
Would
Be nice to score and old track frame or tub wheelset. -
• #174
I think the big ticket items like frames, wheelsets and nice groupsets go first so you're just left with big tables full o' parts after that.
I'm after a couple of retro jerseys and any tat I can get.

I'm really just looking to build up a new ratbike hopefully with an old english path or track frame, not against 27" either.
Herne Hill jumble on Good Friday
I'll come over from the Netherlands to try it..with some bikes and parts
