I'm going to stop buying Maxxis Refuse. I have had loads of punctures on them, and never had one on a Schwalbe Stelvio Plus. I'm trying Panaracer Pasela Tourguard on a couple of bikes.

I'm using conti grand prix 3000, generally pretty good as long as I keep them pumped up.
Anything wider than 26x1 feels horrible and heavy. -

Was using Continental Grand Prix 4 Season and had a puncture after 2 days! Nowhere near as tough as gatorskins - but now have Marathon Plus'es - they feel like car tyres!

I've had one puncture with my Pasela TG, but I'd let it get a bit soft.
They seem to be doing fine if I keep the pressure topped up [/jinx] -

It has been so long since I've had a puncture that I'm beginning to build an irrational fear of them! When I do finally get one (hopefully this will tempt fate so that I can get some practice) it is bound to take me ages to fix. I think I need a puncture to get this out of my system.
A conservative estimate is that I have gone well over 3,000mi since my last puncture. I was running Conti Gatorskins for most of the time but put some Marathon Pluses on a few weeks ago when the Gatorskins wore out. Given the crap on the roads on my commute (Deptford to Camden) this really must be sheer luck.
Aaaah thank fuck for that! FInally got a puncture on my racer while on a fifty miler on Thursday morning. Small shard of flint straight into front tube like a pin. Strong winds and sleet.
Took five minutes to fix which was a relief. Was glad to be wearing glove liners so I could keep my hands warm.
Now I've probably tempted fate too much...I'll be getting one every 25 miles from now on!

i think ive managed to get away with only one puncture in the last few years, caused by me being dumb.
really late to get somewhere, but i had to go home first. sprinting back, I started braking for some lights (in the wet) and obviously my back wheel locked up. kept skidding all the way up to the lights, burning through the tyre, tube, and then taking a decent chunk out of the rim.
dumbass.

Damn, front wheel flat on the way in this morning. I think I jinxed myself thinking about punctures on the way home yesterday...

Bleurgh. Punctured front Gatorskin on a bit of glass about a mile from the office. Fitted new tube nice and quickly only to find that the tube that has been in my bag for over a year had a dodgy valve that would only partially inflate. It got me there but there will be a second tube change of the day.
If you're lucky enough to have very rare punctures, its always good to make sure your spares are in good shape.

nope... just riding along, heard a kinda clunk, and then my ride had a bit of a bump to it, stopped and couldn't beleive what i saw but as it was hardly losing any air i carried on riding to work, slowly, on the pavement...

"A kind of clunk"
"A bit of a bump"Fucking hell, that'd just about kill my bike.
Reported for riding on the pavement though.

I had pretty much exactly the same puncture. I still have the screw somewhere, I think. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo at the time.

Funny, I thought I'd posted about it in this thread, but didn't. Just linked to it from the 'Spotted ...' thread.
photoben yesterday on Kingsland Road. Great to see you!
He arrived just as I was sitting by the roadside fixing my impressive puncture. The screw went in through the tyre, scraped the outside of the inner tube and went back out through the tyre sidewall. There was a good bang and no time to get used to the idea of having a puncture. It took three patches to patch. I was even surprised I could patch it, as the various holes covered an area about 7mm square.
(This was somewhat similar to Jacqui's puncture last year, in fact:
Quoting it here for completeness.

^I did that to a Randonneur and the inner tube survived. The nail smacking against my chainstay was the only clue I had that something had happened.
Skully was riding behind me by chance and found me staring at my bike wondering wtf the noise was and helpfully pointed the the big fucking nail hanging out of it.
Edit Found the pic
This morning I seem to have sleepily overinflated my 24c tyre with the super supple latex inner that managed to squirm it's way under the tyre bead and squeak itself to death just as was thinking "hmm, this tyre feels a bit firm"

Well that's a first... rode over a stanley knife blade this morning - massive bang from the back tyre. Beautiful clean cut sidewall-to-sidewall straight through the tyre and tube. Had to laugh really - £45 down the sh*tter right there...

Michelin pro 3's and broken brown glass beer bottles on the south circular don't mix.

Bastard!
In order to get home I had to repair the tyre and both sides of the tube as it went clean though and stopped on the rim!
This was so difficult to remove from the tyre with only my fingers! I must replace that leatherman I once had.

You got screwed.

An exciting start to the morning, the nail collected my mudguard on the way round, completely destroyed it

So much so that I gave the only set I've ever had away. I'd rather fix a puncture than get stitched, personally. This is where I plug Vittoria Paves, which grip like bastards, roll almost as quickly as a full race tyre and don't puncture all that often. They are however extremely pricey and wear out double quick (and don't even think of skidding on them except in an emergency).
