... gonna be full of Islington type hipsters ...
your idea and mine of hipsters are quite, quite different. I've never seen so many unstylish idiotic herberts hanging around as I regularly do in Islington. Its full of c*nts, yes, but not fashionable c*nts.

Islington is not 'cool' by any stretch of the imagination, except for the yummy mummy brigade, and their stockbroker hubbies.

shoreditch is full of yoot trying too hard to be trendy and the middle aged who ought to know better, and it's a crime ridden shithole.
islington like fulham has too many people who turn their collars up and wear deck shoes. -

It sounds very good but I can't help but get the feeling that any place like this is gonna be full of Islington type hipsters looking down their noses at you because you haven't got the 'in' saddle on your bike or cause you aint wearing skinny jeans. For this very reason I always order from the net. As with anything underground or only just becoming popular you get the people that are already into it becoming elitist about the whole thing. And scoffing at anyone that doesnt fit into their pigeonhole. That said I hope their shop does well, its just not for me.
This is why I rarely leave the house or go anywhere I haven't been before or try new foods or talk to women or...

the place really isnt a "boutique"
its a nice little venture in a studio space setup by riders that use this forum. Much like roberto, fixed gear london & hubjub I hear of.
Its the most UNpretentious thing you could imagine. They are nice fellas, keith actually does a bit of track racing and jos's dad if I remember right runs a cycle club in Belgium, who gets his mates & contacts all over europe to hand over there old steel!
Just go for a visit, its very chilled out and quite unknown at the moment, Its likely their will be no-punters in there when you get there. When they have the webisite up I imaging demand for gear will outstrip supply, so Id get there sharpish.
No hispters, I promise!
I went over the Tour de Ville last night when I realised i didn't have a brake for cuppa.. I live 2 mins from the boys and so I was really hoping they had something. It took keith about 10 mins to ring me back and tell me he had one. That's service.
I rolled over, we chatted. I mentioned them being talked about on the forum and he's promised to come to South's (2 4 1 burgers were the key!) so if you want to meet him you can.
No one could ever call Keith or Jos hipsters. They just like bikes and know their stuff. Jos is a dutch junior champ, I dont know if keith races but he's fast.. -

Well if I have mis-represented them then I am sorry, Like I said just my personal feelings. Anyway it's good to be a bit contravercial sometimes. Still wish them the best. Can you all say hand on heart that at some point you haven't looked at someones elses ride and thought ' That looks so crap' or ' that is so last year' or words to that effect? Thats the sh*t i hate about any pastime or hobby or sport, when people judge, whether they are from Islington, Hackney, Shoreditch or where ever!

"I dont know if keith races but he's fast.."
nelly and wingnut told me he's a wheelsucking chancer with no finesse on a bike.
that wouldn't stop me buying some ultra rare cerise bar tape or a pink saddle from him -

Shoreditch is in the City of London anyway, not Islington.
It's worth pointing out the Islington is one of the capital's most densely populated boroughs, including some of the most impoverished inhabitants, and is fucking massive, running all the way from the Finsbury end of Old St all the way up to Archway.
It's always been far too cosmopolitan to be pigeon-holed as anything other than, well, cosmopolitan.

And Jos is too tall to be a hipster, you have to be under 6ft 1in. Although I've heard Nike are working on 'negative sneakers'.

Wingnut has plenty of grace on a bike absolutely.. keith can still decend faster and better although Wingnut drops him on the climbs. Both of them are still faster than me.. ;(

BMMX:
(above^) Islington: read Angel. I was differentiating between Angel (yummy rich bastards) and Shoreditch (groovy rich bastards). This was a totally bullshit thing to be saying, I know. But vaguely true.
Shoreditch (formerly borough of) is mostly in LB of Hackney. Some in LB of Islington, west of Hoxton street i.e. Hoxton. Some in LB of Tower Hamlets (east of Hackney Road/Shoreditch High St). Very little of The City was formerly Borough of Shoreditch, if any. So ner.
