Reynolds Blue are the Swiss Stop Green of the carbon world.
So better than swissstop yellow for carbon?
-
• #3479
Yes, in my (limited) experience anyway.

Interesting...

Ritchey and Reynolds are the same company?
-

Not that I'm aware. But the compound on the Blue offers more consistent braking than anything else I've tried, including Swiss Stop yellow.
I have Swiss Stop green on all three of my bikes running aluminium rims, as I think they offer superb braking, but moved to the Reynolds Blue for the carbon rims because they were better than their Swiss Stop counterparts.

The SwissStop black prince were excellent with my 404's- better than Reynolds blue in my opinion.
-

I haven't tried them. My carbon wheels come out for about a month a year, so these pads are likely to last me until 2032.

Thanks for throwing another name into the pot!

The Zipp Cork pads are the best stoppers. They are to be my next purchase, after my unbranded cork pads preffered to let the front end of a Merc SUV do the stopping for them, on a wet day*. Not much bang for buck though.
(*well nearly)

Right before I hear anymore names for brake pads, Reynolds blue bought!

I may actually try Black Prince. They can be had much cheaper, as they come in under the import limit.

^^^ lidl I think have or will have very soon their cycling sale with their pretty well reviewed repair stands for £30
Probably ok value but obviously mixed reviews on these cheaper ones (less than ideal or loosening clamp & generally not too robust). Also, having saved on tools in the past I've learned to rather save on something else.
[Tacx Spider Team T3350]
I'm in the market for one of these as well.
Why this one over park tools? the price is quite similar.
No reason really. Tacx had me convinced years ago with one of their most ingenious bike tools ever.
Just finished my first build on the stand last night and can feel the difference in my back for not having to crouch around a bike for hours. The stand handled very well, obviously not completely frozen when putting some torque on things but generally very stable and easily adjustable.

Thats nuts.
Does that mean you can tow a grown sized bike around?
I'd love to see a prank vid of you faking a puncture in a London park. Unpacking you Airnimal and riding off.

That airnimal thing is so damn cool...
Perfect for touring I guess also. -
• #3500
The airnimal (on the right) folds up and goes in the case, along with the towing bits, including the wheels. You can then fly it someplace, unpack the bike and towing bits, and replace them with your luggage. Then you can ride out to wherever you want to go.
A full size bike might go in it, but it would need to be a breakaway type.
