  • 2nd class post delivered overnight. Mebbe on your planet.

  • True. I'm probably lying.

  • You gotta treat your postman right. Ours was offered a cuppa the other day. he refused, having far too much stuff to deliver.

  • I posted a card on 23rd december last year. Put it in the box 45 mins after last collection and it had arrived by mid-morning on 24th. This was E.Midlands to Surrey. There wasn't any snow then, mind.

  • Fuck me, it's gone all online Daily Mail in here.

^ must be an immo with that attitude

  • I do - he's into MTBs and regularly chats about bikes.

Last week I paid a small fortune for a legal document to be delivered Next Day Signed For to an address about a mile away.

Took 3 days to get there. PO response was "we don't guarantee delivery dates".

  • which didnt arrive despite paying for next day delivery on tuesday :(

xmas holiday in cornwall playing in the snow/mud is properly hanging in the balance, if it doesnt arrive tomorrow then i'm going and buying another one.

  • post finally arrived at 5.50. 17 items, oldest posted 12 days ago, first class from London, all of 30 miles away. Still no prezzie for in-laws. Farcical.

  • Nice shiney 19t freewheel

You old woman. 16t or death. metal sign

  • £12 is crazy cheap for a WI freewheel, I think I'll get my friend in America to buy me one, should work out around £40.

Im up for getting one aswell moog, do you think your mate would post me one also..? it might work out a bit cheaper in terms of posting if we went in together?

  • which didnt arrive despite paying for next day delivery on tuesday :(

I feel your pain. Light bike Dolan frame was posted next day on Tuesday. Parcel force tell me it's stuck in Coventry cause Charlton depot is full?!?

Won't get it until after chrimbo :-(

  • whay is everybody (mostly scoble) banging on about 'cockpits' these days?... it's a bike, not a fighter jet!
what was wrong with the term 'handlebars'?

    Because 'handlebar' mean just that.

Not sure yet, I'm skint and haven't even asked her yet. I'll let you know though.

  • my posty delivers in shorts all year round, even in the snow. he's nuts.

Royal mail is awesome, rarely fucks up. And Mrak is right, my negative experiences with posting stuff is with private firms.

    #justsayin

    #cockpit

  • It's a term that has been used since before I was measured for my first road bike 1988 to describe saddle possition, top tube lenght, stem length and handle bar possition. Those banging on about it or bitching about it are probably johnny come latelys to the sport
:strokes beard before rubbing receding hair line:

Nice to have you back aroond Rob.

Yes... But why use the term cockpit?... It is a freakin' bicycle... You do not need a pilots licence to operate a bike! This is what I'm getting at!

It is nice to be back dude, it shall only be a fleeting visit though I'm afraid, this place just ain't what it used to be....
    We must drink soon!

  • Might be that the terms are rather more generic than the usage we now have for them?

You get river pilots for example, pilot lights- both leading the way, one directing, the other initiating.

Cockpit as in where a pilot works, or where direction is given maybe?

Drivers are referred to as Pilots in Italian (or at least racing drivers are).

    Gibber gibber gibber...

  • 'Pilot' is Polish for 'remote control'. Make of that what you will.

  • Arrived this morning after ordering yesterday.

    Christmas Magic

  • speaking of magic post.. I've been ordering things from Amazon recently and bought a few books, some of which wouldn't be posted out until a later date. A few days later I order a CD which posts out the next day. A couple more days later the books are posted.

Got the books 2 days ago, got the CD this morning. :S
