  • I got it because SF raved about it, that and I cut my cables just too short, and now need to redo them.

    Boo.

  • Had a fun time at the post office yesterday. Front (12Ltr), and rear (16Ltr) pannier bags, 2 pairs of tasteless boardshorts for hols, and some fantastic MTB shoes.

  • Haha, love those shorts!

  • They're pretty cool in the flesh.

Cheap too (pricey, but quick, delivery to UK).

  • With this crankset you are spoiling us!

Wait 'til you see mine, finally got notification of customs charges 8 days after they landed in the UK, so should get them in my hands tomorrow.

Already have ceramic BB, and aero chainrings for it. The 165mm length was bloody difficult to track down. Could'nt see the point in all the non-circular ring stuff, if the legth was wrong.

    Tease.
Ended up waiting near 3 months for mine. did cancel and reorder from another dealer at one point though.

  • One of these, pleased as the punch.

  • Tease.

2 days from South Carolina to the UK, 9 days from landing to getting them in my hands. Needs a custom track ring, and I don't have a BB yet, but I do at least have a set of these (now discontinued) cranks for under £700 including shipping and taxes.

  • Even though they look rather cool and are prob stiff as fuck id rather buy a SRM system
instead, but you might have it/ don't want that. Nice purchase tho, enjoy!

  • Madness but indeed a well worth bit of kit as it is pretty rare to see them on the market now.

  • Oh I can't wait to put my Schlumpf on here in 2 weeks time!

    Fair play, you win.

Would look pretty fast with a Fiber-lyte aero chanring. Feck knows how those things ride/last though.

  • Fibrelyte is what I'm having, since Highpath have retired from chainring manufacture. Should be OK for fixed TT use, some people even use them on geared bikes. Just waiting for the frame so I can optimise gearing choice to get the tyre in the right place relative to the seat tube cut out, hoping 54/14 is going to be the gear, don't really want to go smaller than 14t at the back, so 58/15 is second choice to bring the wheel forward a smidge.

  • ^that's a Smurf Oliver...

  • Yes, Schtroumpf is only the original name invented by the creator of the Smurfs, Schtroumpfs, Peyo. :)

(In case you hadn't picked up Tiswas' irony. :) )

  • They sure know how to pack their merchandise.

    Nice.
    and +1

    Just recieved these.

Much lighter then the ones they're replacing.

If not, treat yourself to a Boone ring.

  • A well deserved treat.

  • If not, treat yourself to a Boone ring.

Do Boone do VumaChrono rings? Thought not. They could probably do one as a custom, but they're not even taking orders for bolt on sprockets at the moment, I guess the jewellery business is taking up their time in a more profitable sector.

In other postman related news, today he brought Zipp Vuma BB and 3T compact carbon elbow rests to replace the big heavy alloy comfort version on the Ventus bars. Waiting for some curvaceous ITM carbon extensions to replace the alloy s-bends I'm using at the moment.
