  • Brentford iirc

    Bang on

  • smell my cheese

Monkey Tennis? Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank?

  • access to Dixons

oh god actually weed a bit listening to that just now. genius.

  • They tried to convince me to also have a luggage bag that fits onto the front of the bike, but I don't want one of those as it makes you look even more of a prat than you already do!

to be honest you should've got the luggage bag since that would hold the value of the Brompton should you sell it.

    iPhone holder would be l33t

  • What a weird/amazing break?!

I had a crank snap on me once (a Specialized "Son of Strongarm" on an old mountain bike)...

Was bloody scary and I buckarooed all over the road but fortunately stayed upright

  • Just picked the bike back up. The list of parts replaced that were damaged in the crash are as follows:

    New set of cranks
    New chain tensioner
    New gear adjustment chain
    New rear mudguard

As mentioned earlier in the post, they were also prepared to give some more extras. These ended up being:

New Fi'zi:k saddle (original was damaged in my 'off' 3 months ago)
    New handlebar and grips
    New chain
    New BB
    New rear triangle pivot bush
    New seatpost clamp assembly
    New rear dynamo
    New tyre
New SPD pedals (they wanted to keep the original in the broken crank)

Plus they serviced the bike (which included new brake blocks) and lubricated the bike in the necessary hinge areas (where the bush was found to be worn).

I for one think this is unbelievable customer service.

  • But did they buy you a beer?

  • West London! tra-la-la-la... West London! tra-la-la-la...
    Spiffing service old chap. What-what?!

  • WOW, fair play, not a bad set of guy's at all. well done sam.

  • But did they buy you a beer?

    No, b@stards!

  • one excellent after sales service. good one.

    now sell it!

  • But did they buy you a beer?

    since when was one enough?

  • yer i have had a crank snap:

brompton did send a new crankset foc in the new thicker design

    also broke a frame:

when they replaced the frame that also fitted new cables, gear stuff etc etc

  • Narsty- what year Bromptons are they rootes?

  • ..I would not have expected that from brompton, good they replace the things ..but wonder if they would pay for the cost of broken teeth or worse your funeral..

  • year, well my cranks were just 5 years old when they went but were of the older design, frame was under 3 years old - pics above of of the 'same bike' though there is very little left of the original bike I bought

  • Looks like the seat post was the cause of that crack? How much post was left in the seat tube?
