Oh well that clears that up then?
There is a lot of confusion in this thread, it is a big melting pot of tyre cleaning techniques, African dictators and Nu-Rave children.
I am very uncomfortable with how this thread has gone, it will be reported.
Altough your 'Oh well that clears that up then' does bring us nicely back on topic.

Smart move, this thread seems about right for this time of morning, but it should be shut before I wake up again, otherwise I might be compelled to post again.

I am all for new rave bands I have not heard of and reminiscing over Brasseye.
However, I'd like to know if anyone has tried the plastic eraser tyre buffing technique? Are there any other methods that are less laborious? Before and after photos?

Hear is a challenge people:
I want white/pink/something-exotic sew-ups/tubulars. I've no idea if they exist (but if they did it'd be Japan).
Extra points for skinwalls.

I reckon you could quite easily die a pair of tyres/tubs.
Them oldskool bmxers are always dying skyways and kashimax etc with boiling water + dylon.

Clean tyre walls using Mr Sheen furniture polish. Be sure not to get any on the rims though as it will make your braking surface slippery and reduce your braking ability. Just spray some on a cloth and rub the tyres clean.

Black Dust ™ from my Shimano pads really fecks up the whitewall on Rubino Pros and was eraser resistant. Maybe disc brake cleaner? Or I'll have to splurge on some Kool Stops.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this - nail polish remover brings white rubber out really clean. When I liked clean shoes, I used to clean all my shoes with it. Now I just prefer having grubby shoes. It also works on leather - gets a pale saddle pristine again.
Just make sure you give it a really thorough rinse afterwards though so it doesn't perish the material.
