Safe locations, day time and I have a trusty assistant. The more I read the ads and communications regards the first job (I've yet to hear back from the second) the more I reckon this just a fabulous coincidence.
And it won't be the first shots of mine someone's cronked themself off to, I'd have thought.
We should have a daytime bench wank ride, do it for charity. -

charity? you'll want the money shot then
-
• #229
You'd better check the age of the bench in question before you go any further.

Ah well waddaya know I'm just too trusting and it was a scam/s all along. Knew it really but I wouldn't want to fuck off a good client with a knee jerk so just bided me time. And well if 'they' both didn't reply after a week of silence withing minutes of each other. Different words and manner but identical syntax and paragraph size and 'excited tone'. Best bet they were to be Paypal overpayments but I didn't let it get to that.
So we wrote something pointed and sent them a little package that would at first appear to be a trojan the size of Hull which at the very least should have had them pulling the wires from the wall. Ho ho ho what fun I am.
Still up for a bench cronk ride mind.

Hi all, recently sold a frame on ebay and the buyer is in china. He said he can only pay me in $ instead of £.
Does this matter? Will I loose out?

Walk away from the deal. Nothing good will come of it.
-
• #234
It's quite an expensive frame, I can't just do that...

Sterling is stronger than dollar.
Use your noggin.

Yet you're prepared to spend money to ship it to China, on the off chance that you might not be being scammed, and Paypal might not take the buyer's word and might not take the money straight back out of your account?Irrespective of whether it is USD or GBP.
In any case - Paypal will put GBP into your account, and take USD out of the buyer's account, and charge the buyer any exchange costs.

Getting the buyer to pay via Paypal gift, am I 100% covered?
James

Ok, received payment in GBP from the buyer. He doesn't have much feedback (4) but it's all for bike parts and they've all came out positives.
He's paid via eBay/PayPal and I've done a little research and found this..
*"We can protect you
Most transactions go smoothly but if there's a problem, PayPal Seller Protection can help you. For example, if you receive an unauthorised payment or if a buyer claims that an item didn't arrive, we can protect you for the full amount - at no extra cost.As long as a buyer pays you with PayPal, your eligible transactions are automatically protected."*
As long as I send it via online tracking, I'm protected, right?

read this as 'Papal questions' was wondering whether Mr. Ratzeinger had made an account.

Not sure if this has been covered, but I think I have just been scammed, paid via goods payment, but was worried what happens if the guy withdraws the money then closes his account. Spoke to PayPal and they put my mind at ease.
As soon as you raise a dispute, PayPal freeze the money in the sellers account and hold it in escrow until resolution is reached. So if you ever get a bad feeling on a deal, raise a dispute ASAP as the seller can't closed their account or withdraw the funds once youve done so.

More of a standard issue but I bought a keyboard on ebay but the usb connection is shit thus cutting power easily. Also the white keys are very yellow- like it's been putting away 40 Marlbroghs Reds a day.
:-/
I messaged him and and he apologised but says I need to pay to send it back (£30/40@25kgs) plus paypal fees.I'm thinking, hang on you've not been 100% honest with your listing and have left me screwed. YTF am I going to pay you for my inconvenience?
Or is there some kind of code where I put something up to aid the process? Once returned I'd be about £50 down with no keyboard. -

File a paypal dispute citing the item wasn't as described. They'll refund you, then it's up to the seller to work out how he gets it back.
-

I like civility. Is it worth telling the seller I have no intention of paying a penny for his error or just open the case?

I'm having issues removing restrictions from my paypal account.
I had two outstanding requirements: passport and the thing where they text you a code to put into the website. I couldn't do the latter until this week as I was using a US sim while out of the country. I uploaded my passport on the 10th of September and the bloody thing still says in progress. Today I did the code text thing which I hoped would sort all my problems but the passport is still just sitting there. Any advises? Already emailed them etc.

I bought that Klein Aeolus for the girlfriend for Christmas - paid on December the 1st.
Apparently it's been lost, but La Poste, somewhere in Germany.
I've now filed a complaint with PayPal, whom I insisted we used (I paid £15 extra to cover the fee).
The seller charged me 100 euro to post the frame (to some random in Germany, it turns out), will I get that money back as part of the claim?

Purchased something via paypal from a dude on bikeradar. Condition not as described so have opened a dispute as such. He says I should just send it back, but I believe he has to accept dispute first otherwise I am not guaranteed my moneys back? Someone help.

So I mistakenly wrongly listed an item on ebay.
Didnt realise the buyer had opened a dispute (I think because ebay and paypal have parted ways) so its been a couple of weeks. Paypal have taken the funds back from me. I refused to grant the refund to the buyer as I assume I should expect to get the item back first?
Am I right?

That ship probably sailed in the couple of weeks its been.
This. People are weird.
I can't see any risk other than potentially it being a dark alleyway/mugging scenario as Bothwell said. Otherwise, you're getting paid to take photos of benches for someone to crack one out to, if you're cool with that then no problem.
