Sparkes strikes again! Quite hard to get a pic of your own calf, will try get a more decent one when it's healed up a bit.

That's nice man! +1 for photographing the back of your leg being impossible. I'd love something by Liam Sparkes and have a few ideas of what I want. That'll definitely have to wait though, I'm moving this month and need to get my knee ditch finished before I can even think about booking a new tattoo!

well aware this sounds like unsubstantiated gossip but I remember hearing that Hooper was only going to tattoo people he'd tattooed before and not take on new clients? this was a while ago though. il see if I can find where I read that when Im home from work...

he used to be at into you, now I think he is either at shangri la or somewhere else in dalston. I go past a door on kingsland road a lot that has a lot of mxm stickers on it.. maybe that's his base. not sure. I emailed him a while ago about an appointment but still waitig to hear back

....Man, I got this at Black Garden last night. One of the cooler shops I have been tattooed at, with super cool people. Though, my favourite shop that I have been tattooed at is still Showroom Tattoo Parlour in Las Vegas.

I walk passed this place a lot and have wondered what its like, good to hear some feedback I might pop in next time I'm in the area.

I was in Vegas last year but only heard about Showroom when I got back, megagutted.

Also, I have five older issues (2009 I think) of Juxtapoz that need to go, I am running out of room on my bookshelves and having a clear out, does anyone here want them? Some interesting art in there, definitely some ideas for inspirations. Pickup from SE5.

Thanks for the comments, I'm really happy with it. I think I was there for about 3 hours from drawing it up to walking out the door, possibly 1 and a half hours of actual tattoo time but I'm not sure really.

I would recommend having a few ideas for your tattoo in mind when going to Liam, I wanted the hare to be running across my calf but he suggested just doing the head as it would have a bigger impact and not be lost in the curve of my leg. I was a bit put off by this at first and we had to work a bit on the design until both of us were happy with it. Now I can see it on my skin I'm 100% sure his idea was the way to go.

Dakin, mine pales in insignificance after looking at those you posted earlier up in the thread! I'm looking to get some nice geometric work done this winter maybe, waiting to see how my skin reacts to the hare first.

I met MxM at Shangri La, him and Sparkes work in the same room. Both are sound with solid work and decent rates, would recommend both of them to any forumger. Best to call Shangri instead of faffing about with email, they have an assistant there that will help out with appointments but I think both the guys travel a lot.

Going on the top of my arm.

It's been a right hassle booking tickets to Edinburgh, phoning my brother who lives there and he wanted me to come the weekend after. So I changed the date with the tattoo shop then easyjet wanted an obscene amount of money to change the flights, more than the original ones cost, so I've had to call the shop for the third time today and go back to the original date.

I'm currently en route to Rotterdam - anyone reccomend a decent shop in Amsterdam?
