Can't believe I am missing the tattoo convention for the 2nd year running

It's not that good

It's alright. It's not worth £20, but its a good way to have a look at some artists who you might not know about, and I usually end up buying a book or two at it for ideas and inspiration for future pieces.

I'm going for the first time. I have a short-list of artists for a sleeve project that I want to check out mainly.

I went to the 09 one and got my very first tattoo.
Not been back since as I'd want fresh tattoos. -

RE: giving blood, their website had a 'can I give blood' questionnaire that asked 'been tattooed in the last 12m' if you say yes it's go on about in the last 4m. Vicious circle of being tattooed 8months ago, but not being able to answer No without lying.
Guess they updated it to say 4m now. Also, it's because all tattooists reuse dirty needles they find on heroin OD'd scumbags

Remember though, it's not just about the art, it's how you get on with them as well if it's a bigger piece, just makes the whole experience way better

Yeah that's the tricky bit. Are many artists at the convention hanging around and happy to chat? Short of booking a consultation with everybody on my list, I'm not sure how else to get to figure this out.
-
• #5912
tricky, not everyone wants to be there... probably worth checking out their work, then heading to the relevant shop(s) for a chat about what you want so you can gauge their interest in the piece as well

Good plan. Thanks, mate.

The large majority are only doing walk-ups and no bookings, so you'd have to just rock up and chat to them. Most are happy to chat though, unless they're working on someone.

Good to hear. Should get to chat to some at least then.

Few recent works in progress. If anyone is interested.
Like the rose with the dagger through it - I'm looking for something to add to my skull and daggers - probably above/around it - top of arm - maybe start of half sleeve?

Was at the velodrome and saw the paralympian guy racing with his custom looking crabon GB leg, looked pretty cool and he had to shave less that the other poor saps.

Good stuff, thanks.. used to be 18 months but I guess given the popularity that's a lot of blood they'll miss out on
