It really was my lucky day then! He has a space appointment tomorrow at 12 (unless it got filled this afternoon). Otherwise he said he's not taking bookings until after the summer. I would feel bad but I'm still too excited.

I'd like to start looking for an artist for my next tattoo, which will be on my calf. The problem I'm having is I want it to be a bit of a mix of styles/elements and I am aware that it could just turn out to be a mess.
I'm not massively in to tribal stuff, but I would like to have some sort of Myan turtle incorporated a bit like this:
I think I'd also like some flowers and things and maybe a bit of a pirate flag:
...oh and I also really like the look of part finished tattoos, this is a perfect example:
Overall I'd like dark green and/or maybe black ink, with a splash of colour somewhere. A bit like the tiger above with detail at one end, running into very sparse at the other.
Any ideas of artists in London who'd be worth checking out? Also any comments on my idea and possible problems.

Getting a statue of a chinese lion. I'm really into super realistic tattoos, but still want it to look like a statue. Was pretty nervous as my only other tattoo is pretty tiny and this is gonna be a biggun but the consultation today totally put my mind at ease.
If you mean one of these http://www.clevelandpeople.com/images/china/chinese-garden/chinese-lion-statue.jpg then, this may sound silly, but you really need to get 2 lions. Only having one is very bad luck.
Seriously, the left and right are slightly different, you need both.
when I get round to it I will be getting these on the back of my calfs.

Thanks for the heads up - I had gone in with the intention of just getting the female, but Piotrek suggested having the male in the background. I knew they always came in pairs but hadn't even considered that only one would mean bad luck.

Cheers. Looking through his work there's some cool stuff... on first glance I wasn't sure it's quite what I'm after. But there's a good range and a variation of styles.
Really like some of the simpler style stuff like this:

Hi
I need advice from the Japan knowledgeable folks on here.
my wife is half japanese, but born and raised in denmark. She's thinking about getting the nippon sun without the rays tattooed on her underarm, but is worried about how that would be looked upon when we are visiting japan. She's aware that nationalism is a sore point in japan. Thanks a lot.
Bastard! I've just send him an email two days ago and no reply. I was about to call the place, but there was always something. Bugger! I really wanted to start my sleeve before the proper Summer and sweaty rides.
