Incredible piece, Cazakstan.
I love it.

Really nice. Love the way the top edge fades into the shoulder, while the bottom edge is very strong.

So, what are opinions on mixing styles?
I have a japanese half sleeve on my right arm, and had planned to continue the japanese theme in the future, however I really want to get old school swallows on my chest... also considering getting a new school owl somewhere...
reckon it'll look ok mixing the styles?
I think you can mix styles, but you've got to be careful about keeping some sort of overall continuity.
A friend of mine has a few with a slight mixing of oriental style and old school. He was chatting to an artist in NY about doing his back and the guy pointed out that he needs to make sure that the artist's style isn't going to clash, because at the moment there's a lot going on and the last piece has to tie it together.
Off the top of my head I'd say if you've got a Japanese sleeve on the right, maybe see if there's a way of getting an interesting hybrid jap/old school bird on your chest and have the flow of styles working around your body?
The best thing is to go and have a chat to an artist in person to bounce some ideas around.

Wicksie, see post 3204 above.
EDIT: just going though Vintage Karma's website and really love this skull. Not sure I'd every get a skull, but this one does make me think.

Mixing styles is ok as long as its aesthetically complimentary.
If you have a lot of b&w then get a random colour it could look out of place.
I have a colourful new/ traditional vibe going on my left arm, I have considered jap work (foo dogs down my sides) not sure it it'll work properly :/ -

Really liking that first one. I love it when tattoo's make use of the skin, rather than ink...if that makes sense.
Got to ask, where is that second one? The shaving makes it look like a thigh, but i'm sure it must be your ribs?

Really like the sound of that, well it's a friend that's a great artist that is drawing the swallows for me, and another "aquaintance" that is going to ink them.
The guy that will be inking them has been doing alot of what can best be described as japanese fusion work lately, so I think I will take him the sketches and see where we go from there.
Cheers!

I think the nipple gives it away. :D
