Cheers for that.
Pretty much what I was thinking, I just needed some confirmation from someone who had a clue. It's just getting the balance between what you want and what is achievable/sensible with a limited media.

Nope. Its on my ribs. Which I thought would be a good place to start :S
I'm trying to not get worried about the pain.

i would listen to the artist and personally I'd go home, get it clean and chill out on the sofa. first 48 hours is pretty important to keep it clean etc.

Slight derail. How was the surfing? When I went a couple of weeks after you we had a couple of 4 foot days followed by a good 8 foot day* and then flat with onshores all along the north track until the morning I left when it was firing at The Harbour right outside my hotel.

@Hugo 7
a big fat +1 to Tenderloin, as far as I can tell, good tattoos mostly come from letting a good artist exercise their judgement
On the other thing; I had a comfortable and relaxed flight back from San Francisco 4 hours after getting my last tattoo - just have some lunch before hand, you'll be all good for the rest of the day

Hey guys. Looking to get my first tattoo in the next couple of months, spent a while looking at pictures and stuff but really need to get out and talk to some artists. I had a look at a few shops online and was planning on talking to people at Haunted in Holloway and Frith Street. I am looking for someone who can make a hot zombie girl/pin up, not really sure.
Can you guys recommend good artists around London who likes these sort of things.I saw the image below and it blew my socks off (mainly the girl in the middle)
Not too keen on flying to Germany for artwork though.

Didn't want to say in case it's not supposed to be Bjork. Pretty much Bjork though.

There are some native American faces that he's done that are shocking in their lifelike intensity...
And to see them on skin rather than a screen is very different. -

Armpit is traditionally a place for shunga in the iconography of Japanese tattoo.

Her forehead is too high for Gwyneth Paltrow.

I have been at work today and slowly been trawling through this thread and surfing Myspace of all places, there is some awesome artwork on here and in London I am spoiled for choice with artists. I really want to speak to Sylvia Z, Jason from Immortal Ink and Stotker in Angel, I saw that Lil had asked about her a while back, anyone had any work done there?
Stotker is my first port of call.
I think I want a sexy lady being eaten/overpowered by deamons and shit. A mix of these two images
I love Arik Roper http://www.arikroper.com/art/illustration/

wow this page...
some of this stuff here.
my tastes.
Colour wise, I would be tempted to go with her, she knows the inks, how they are likely to come out, and what will look best. But sure tell her you don't want it as dark, that shouldn't be a problem.
The other 2 things I wouldn't worry about, drinking a lot before can be bad, but shouldn't matter after. After a 3hour session, you will be a little sore, and will need to shower, prep tat, etc but I mean it's not going to stop you from doing anything, just take care of it, and you shouldn't have any problems.
This is just from me and my experience, if I have said something dumb, then by all means correct me.
