Ftony, I do hope you get that done. There's some nice detailing to be done with a less compressed image.

For those who said he couldn't get a job.

Being a muse isn't exactly a job though, is it?

  • I'm paid £30 a pop.

  • To do what, exactly?

  • The money if for company only. The rest is between consenting adults.

  • ^ hehehe

  • Saying that, have you noticed that plenty of glamour models and those ladies from tv chats sport huge tattoos nowadays?
I'm curious how all those middle aged punters feel about it.

  • They need to feel young :P I dunno actually. What's your view?

  • As a middle aged man?

  • Seriously, I think they're doing good job of making people used to bold tattoos.

  • I think tattoos can be slutty in a hot way. Is that an honest enough answer?

  • Tattos are now the mainstream, probably way more of an alternative stance not to have one - i used to really want a sleave, but the amount of boy band wanabes you see walking around with them now really puts me off.

  • morgasm that is an awesome tattoo...
Math is at self sacrifice....I was in there yesterday looking at his book...like the different style but not sure if it will fit with all the more traditional work i already have.
Have an idea for what I want in a next design but unsure of what style to have it in. Probably stick with black and grey again as I think it doesnt look as dated.
How are shins for getting done? I am assuming pretty painful

Front and sides are a piece of piss, back can be a bit tender.

  • I like the work on the back. I wouldn't mind having something similar but the full body is too much for me.

  • I was going to write this before, but stopped, as it would probably have gone in the rant thread.

Doing the rounds when travelling, spending alot of time on the beach, I was amazed by how many tattoo's were out there and to my mind, how many bad (derivative/seenthemallbefore) tattoo's out there. Nothing that jumped out and said this is amazing. Lots of sleeves, and socks??, lots of coi carp, and tribal bands, swirly masses of black. Now I have no idea whether the tattoo is special to them, but from my view it was like the majority of people went into a tattoo parlour, looked in a book and said give me that one.

It really started to put me off getting the tattoo I was considering getting done, (still going to speak to chris higgins - thanks for the tip whoever posted up his work a few pages back) and am excited about the work, but really loathe to become another one of the tattooed masses. Just feels like I'm jumping on the ever expanding bandwagon. I don't like to be too judgmental each to their own and all that, but it just feels like there's so much work that looks like other work, that looks like other work. That it just starts to feel a bit depressing..

  • Everything becomes a bandwagon at some point. Everything sells out. Everything gets mass appeal.

    Even fixed gear bicycles.

  • ^^Totally agree Mr Blackfoot.

I asked a gIrl about her tattoo yesterday and her reply was that she wanted something "just for me". I pointed out that by having it where she had it was hardly "just for her". I thought that this may have sent the sale the wrong way, but I couldn't help thinking how ironic she looked stood there in an off-white dress she was going to wear for her wedding with this image embedded in the top part of her arm and shoulder.

    It was hardly virginal.

  • Tattos are now the mainstream, probably way more of an alternative stance not to have one.

After years of trying I have become alternative. Wonderful stuff.

  • I fucking hate The Wonder Stuff.

  • It was hardly virginal.

There are virgins, getting married? Didn't that "saving it" shit end years ago?

Shins aren't as bad as you might think but nowhere near as easy as your arm for example... the bit on the ankle set off my nerve endings a bit and the top of the foot was pretty sharp.

I had line and dot work so no real shading or bulk colour areas which might be worse

  • I fucking hate The Wonder Stuff.

Wasn't that Miles Hunt? So appropriate to get that wrong.....

  • There are virgins, getting married? Didn't that "saving it" shit end years ago?

Not seen "Big Fat Gypsy Wedding?" ALL those girls save themselves.

You should definitely not get any tattoo work done.

In a hipster bar in east London, probably more than true. In reality, far from the truth. I work for an organisation with around 300 employees from all different walks of life and all across the country, SFAIK I'm the only one with two full tattoo sleeves.
It's not mainstream enough for me to not consider covering up when I think there's a chance of being pre-judged in a situation where I'd rather not be judged on appearance or considered to be "making a statement". The tattoos are for me, not for other people to look at and make decisions on so I reserve the right to anonymity when I feel like it.

the thing i didnt get was the fact the boys are allowed to shag anyone they like, but the girls can only have sex after marriage. so someone must be lying
