Did it work, putting them in the freezer then reusing?
that's nuts.
-
• #1828
Uh? Re-using..what?!
Edit: When you get your ears stitched up (if your ears cannot close or downsize itself), they will cut the bottom lobe bit out and stitch them together. There is no use for the cut out lobes..

I find the conventions a bit dull tbh, unless you're booked in with someone specific to get a piece done I'm not sure really why you'd go
Unless it's to be snide and mock others?

My tatt never scabbed. All I've had is slight peeling. Does that mean I did a good job with the bepanthen? How long should I do the bepanthen for?
Also when can I realistically get into swimming pool? I am dying to use the hot tub at my rents place.
Great tattoos above. As promised I'll take a new photo of mine, it looks much better now the red/brown has gone. I still hope the shadow goes a bit lighter though as I really didn't want shading.

yep, thats bepanthan working a treat. tattoo's always fade. if its that healed i'd say knock yourself out in the hot tub.

• #1840
Sounds like you've healed nicely. Well done. I normally use Bepanthen until the tattoo loses the shine and I stop seeing dry bits after I've showered and dried off. For the dotwork this is usually around the 2 week mark, for the heavy black, its normally 3-4 weeks. If it doesn't appear to be drying around the edges without it and it isn't shiny, you should be ok to stop using it. Same goes for soaking it for long periods.

I've never used Bepanthen before (it was all Savlon rage back then). It works charm - I've never had any scabbing and it healed really fast. All the colour is still there.
Well, apart from the deep dark shading which become bit mushy after I sweated while riding on a hot day :-/So, let me repeat: Do not ride your bike vigorously for few days after getting a fresh tattoo in the Summer!
It's worse than a sauna and a hot bath combined. -

So a taxi driver went in to the back of me the other day, causing my chainring to scrape against my new tattoo. This took off the scab from a bit of heavy black, making a lovely hole in my leg, all the rest has gone all shiny and I have a horrible looking scab, which decided it wanted to run away when I had a shower a couple of days ago. I am expecting a lot of ink to drop out from that area. I hate cabbies.

Urgh Miles, am sorry :/ Pretty sure you can get it retouched for free, or least a very small fee

It's worse than a sauna and a hot bath combined. Thanks guys. Great news. It's stopped flaking post shower so I guess I'm healed.
I know about the sweat vibe post inking. I had three more days of messengering before I had to take time off to help my sick dad. Inky looking sweat poured down my leg which I had wrapped in cling film for the 1st two days to prevent london dirt getting in. Still looks pretty vibrant though.

arrgh shit, sorry to hear that.. keep looking after it and don't pick at it at all. if some has dropped out the tattoist will fill it back in free of charge I suspect. Is the piece finished?

Re: the healing bepanthen etc,
Heard recently from someone that should be a reliable source that a shower as hot as you can bare as soon as you get home from getting work done is the way to go, he says that he has tried it and that the next day it's as if he was tatooed weeks ago.
Don't think i'm willing to risk it. -

ext day it's as if he was tatooed weeks ago.
Or rather centuries ago :-)
By the way, does anybody need a stretching crescent like this one? Never used, black anodised, 3mm, o-rings. Got one by mistake, as I had my ear stretched before and thought that 2mm will fit in. I've managed to fit 3mm plug, so this one is obsolete.
Also, have two little bags full of bars with colourful acrylic balls - both for tongues and navels (I think - 1.2mm). Freecycle.
Kinda like these

that is awesome.
not for me, but awesome none the less,
That what James did, when he got his ears stitched up. o.O Asked me if I wanted to hold it when he took it out of the freezer in a plastic bag.
Had to postpone my sleeve by a month, as going to a wedding in France (supposedly) early Oct and dont want to piss them off more than I already have. As am the only "modded" one in the family, especially of 13 cousins. But cant wait for it!
