  • Since Eire is my home that gives me many reasons to hate the tories too.
But I'm just giving my opinion as an outside, I dont expect you to listen to it or even respond to it (thanks though). I didnt vote in the mayoral elections because I dont see myself as a "Londoner". I was just saying. And my opinion aint any more valuable than yours so I wont sue you haha.

    Peace

A good point! 'Course you have. But seriously, back in my formative years hating Thatcher was pretty much the only way you could go, they really were the Nasty Government, the way they protected dictators and milked utilities and promoted arms dealing and all that shit. Horrid nasty creeps.

Shame, though, that you didn't vote in the London Assembly/Mayorals though dude. London is all about the people who live here, not just those who can truly say they are 'Londoners' born and bred. Your opinions on how London should be run are as valuable as anybody's.

    Peace to you too.

  • As a cyclist, I feel bad for the guy.

Do you really think he gives a shit;its fantastic PR.He gets front line Evening Standard coverage; BBC London do a package on bike crime(not a bad thing)but for the sentimental value of his bike which I agree might have been priceless to him just like his left testicle I can't but feel the Tory spin doctors(not on vacation in Sth of France) have more than got their intrinsic value out of the mountain bike?

  • he cycles because it is quicker than sitting in a taxi. If he used pubic transport, wiping spit from his forehead would be a daily occurrence.

Anyhow, the fact his bike got stolen should not be the headlines of every BBC channel. Hopefully it will being attention to how many bikes get stolen on a daily basis in London.

  • Nobody deserves to have their bike stolen. The thieves are at fault not the victim, whoever they are.

but what about people who failed to lock their bike properly?

  • Lessons one and two.

    1) People who steal bikes are scum.
    2) People who lock bikes to bollards aren't fit to run the country.

    Here endeth the lessons.

  • Locked bike to bollard. fail

According to the Metro 20,000 bikes get nicked in London every year, hopefully this will get the police a bit more interested in bike theft, although probably not.

  • Why would they if numpties lock them like that ^^^

  • Wishful thinking I guess, hence the 'probably not' at the end. I just like the pic. Plus with 20,000 going walkies each year I'm sure they can't be fucked following them up, after all it's just a bike!!!

  • David Cameron has had his bike stolen again.

    The CTC Newsletter comments:

David Cameron’s bike’s gone again To lose one bike, Mr Cameron, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose it again looks like carelessness. This week the Tory leader had his bike stolen again. This time it wasn’t just chained to a small bollard, but was taken from railings outside his London home. Last time he got his silver and black Scott bike back, so let’s hope he’s not one of the 95% of cyclists who never see theirs again. Sadly, bike theft often puts people off cycling and many never get another bike after theirs is stolen: according to research group Design Against Crime at the University of the Arts London, 17% of cyclists experience bicycle theft: of these 24% stop cycling and 66% cycle less often.

  • hahaha i was going to post that but forgot.. i even teared the tiny article out of the metro and put it in my breast pocket. david cameron is a tart and should buy a better lock/learn how to lock his bike properly/store it inside.

he's no sheldon brown that's for sure.

  • Some people never learn.

  • Surely his gaff is big enough to take a bike into.

Maybe Mrs Cameron had only just finished hovering??

  • hoovering even!
